Ours prefers post but after local RM issues is more flexible. She will send by email unless there are too many attachments. She is currently WFH most if the time, which, with a young family, & dozens of docs to copy/print, can’t be easy. When our purchase goes through (sale completed 8th Jan) I want to send her & her secretary a ‘Thank you’. No idea what but I’ll think of something.Peppermint90 said:Guys....do solicitors send enquiries, and the subsequent answers, to each other by post or email?
I'm hoping it's email!2 -
Supposed to be completing in a week and a half and I'm getting increasingly nervous that something will happen to spoil it. We haven't exchanged yet. I want to get excited about moving but I can't bring myself to in case of let down.1

Yep this is me. We’re supposed to be at exchanging tomorrow and I’m full of anxiety fretting about all the things that could go wrong. Haven’t once stopped to think that it could actually work out. We’ve packed everything we can but I can’t say that I’ve done it with with an ounce of excitement. I have to keep reminding myself that as of Friday I knew for a fact that all parties still wanted to move, all solicitors involved have agreed to exchange and everybody (it’s a chain of 4) have booked their removals companies. Hoping exchange happens earlier in the day tomorrow so I can relax a littlMineral1 said:Supposed to be completing in a week and a half and I'm getting increasingly nervous that something will happen to spoil it. I’m feeling exactly the same, I’ve been half heartedly packing some stuff but feel sick to the stomach. I just keep thinking what if there’s another issue or what if the buyer changed their mind over the weekend. I’m also stressing about my onward house being ready in time as I’m going into rental and they’re still doing my referencing. On top of that I still need to confirm a date with the removal man who is doing it but I can’t until I know and I’m worried he might then not be able to do it.mm1985 said:

Same. Supposed to be sitting a professional exam/interview the Monday after the Thursday we are due to complete! I've forewarned my boss that I might not be completely with it that week...amandacat said:

We called our solicitor on Friday to ask about booking removals. She said our completion date is confirmed so we need to book removals ASAP. We then got an email on Friday afternoon confirming that she had spoken to all parties and they have confirmed that we will exchange on Monday and complete on Wednesday. Even with this I am still not worrying something could go wrong but very much hoping it goes right. Good luck and I hope you get everything sorted next week. My anxiety isn’t made for moving houseamandacat said:

She says, as instead of packing as planned, she starts the arduous task of getting the house ready to go back on the market 😭🤦♀️0 -
I wouldn’t worry too much about getting the house perfect for viewings. We viewed a house full of boxes because their sale had fallen through and it didn’t once put us off the house. It actually made me feel more confident in the fact that they were ready and wanting to move...the only reason we didn’t go for that house was because we had concerns about the river running along the back of the gardenCaz_Mnaz said:

About the boxes - not the river
I think most buyers can see past anything like that. We knew their circumstances & we weren't expecting the place to be immaculate.

I think we're ready to exchange. My solicitor sent over the contract from the seller today, plus the property reports and loads of other documents to check. Only 2 outstanding enquiries, one relating to a parking space and one for use of the communal roof terrace.
Then sign, return and we're there. Oh other than not having our official mortgage offer yet (all agreed With Kent Reliance but randomly selected for an audit).1
