Trouble is if you dont hear anything for weeks you start to wonder if everything is still going ahead. I once had a seller drop out and wasn't informed about it by anyone until I saw a new for sale notice outside the house. I think if I ever did this again I would make sure I chose a solicitor with some sort of formal communications policy in place, even if it's just an online portal you could check on.

Rang yesterday afternoon and just waiting for the ok from one solicitor in chain on enquiries they had, everyone wants to proceed ASAP and are otherwise ready so just waiting on solicitors to communicate to each other. Is it worth calling or emailing daily or should I leave them to it and wait to be called?2

We're having an absolute nightmare with this!
We were due to exchange this week with a view to complete on Friday but last week an issue came up with the purchase of the Freehold. Apparently the correct paperwork had not been received. It appears they are now expecting this on Thursday but it will be too late to exchange/complete on Friday.
So, top of the chain is now suggesting we exchange on the 15th and complete on the 22nd (one week between)
Bottom of the chain (our buyers) solicitor is suggesting we change a few days before completion.
Our solicitors for our purchase are strongly advising a simultaneous exchange/completion.
How on EARTH are we supposed to get everyone on the same page? And why does it seem like it is my job? 🙈0 -

But we've always known we may have to break the chain and just get ours sold if the purchase drags on. We thought we were finally sorted and were going to be able to complete at the same time, but that may not now be the case.0 -

My wife's parents only live down the road, but they are re-decorating so would probably mean all 3 of us cramming into an attic on matresses. Plus they live with the wife's Grandma, who is in her late 80s, so not ideal COVID-wise.
Just hoping it doesn't come to that.
I'm sure you'll be fine with June 😂0 -
We’ve just set another completion date of 20th so really hoping it all works out this time. Our buyers buyers are going over to have one last look at the house this evening so fingers crossed that now doesn’t bring up any issues0

Haven’t been around much due to very stressful move into temp accommodation in Wales in freezing fog.Had to make several unplanned last minute 3hour round trips as my car failed MOT 2 days before move. Most of our stuff now in storage but don’t know how long we’ll be before house purchase goes through (IF it goes through, 1st didn’t, buyers changed their minds 3 months in) so had to plan for several months here.Huge frustration as no internet & laptop refuses to tether to phone. Was ok with previous phone, but that chose to die day before exchange, taking all my house moves notes, contacts etc with it😡
Finally managed to respond to solicitors report on next purchase, yesterday. No lie, paperwork she sent weighs over 1kg. Resorted to 3 photos of parts of my letter sent by email.Still sleep deprived, tearful & definitely alcohol dependant but still here on the rollercoaster.Good luck to everyone else hoping to exchange/ complete soon3 -
Good luck badger! I hope things start to improve for you!0
