We failed to exchange today after all vendors had agreed and sent back all contracts earlier in the week. One solicitor has suddenly out the blue said she had more enquiries!!! I’m starting to get suspicious of that vendor because he had needed prodding all along the process

    please send help/hugs
  • Hey guys. Due to Covid and a variety of problems with our chain, we are still yet to complete our house transaction - we have been ready to exchange since mid-March! Our mortgage offer expires on 26th August.
We are now hoping to exchange on Monday 24th and complete on Wednesday 26th.
All 4 parties in the chain are in agreement with this, but we've now got to sweat over the weekend as to whether this would be possible.
We were originally due to exchange yesterday and complete on the 28th - but our mortgage broker had our expiry date down wrong and the solicitors wouldn't exchange. We then tried to rush our mortgage extension through, but the soonest the lender can get it through is Tuesday. Why this extension isn't automatic as we effectively lost two months due to Covid, I do not know. So the next option was to try and scramble yesterday afternoon to not delay everyone and get things done for the 26th.
I just hope and pray the lenders and solicitors can get this done by the 26th...stress levels and anxiety levels through the roof and beyond.

We need to complete by the 4th September. It feels like our solicitor is not pushing for exchange at all. He is extremely rude as well, spoke to him Friday and he was telling me how is so busy with other peoples exchange/completions. Will be gutted if we have to pull out.

On to a new week.... heard on Friday that our solicitor and their solicitor are pushing the vendor for completion this Friday 28th but the vendor wasn’t responding. Hopefully he was just checking that he can move everything by then.

As the property is only a mile from when I’m currently living we had a drive past yesterday, seems the living room is full of boxes so he’s either getting ready or having plenty of deliveries!
