Most lenders will extend the mortgage offer if asked. Maybe worth checking on that?

How exciting. Fingers crossed for you. My solicitor is the same. No sense of urgency. I guess it’s all just paperwork to them whereas a home to us!

I’m getting so fed up with waiting now. Queries on both our sale and purchase going back and forth with no end in sight to actually resolve them and move forward. My buyers are saying they want it by 30 Sep but my solicitor hasn’t responded to that and no word on my purchase (no chain, it’s empty). Everyday I’m waiting by my phone for a email or call to Confirm things are moving forward. When I chase the solicitor they say they’re waiting on resolving the queries and that’s it. Such a long drawn out process buying a house!

@lkc4777 - how flexible is your landlord? I spoke to our's and they said they would be happy with go on a week by week basis if we ran over. We did deal with them direct, rather than an agent though and we were 3.5 months on from offer by the time E&C was done (with no chain & divorced vendors).
She's fine actually, said give her a month's notice whenever we want. Our fixed term agreement has already ended so we're lucky she's so flexible

Waiting for our solicitor to request the loan amount form the bank today!  I have asked her to confirm to me when she receives the money, but just in case she doesn't, does anyone know if I would receive an email from the bank to tell me she's got the cash?

    Date of entry Monday!!!

    We failed to exchange today.
Vendor (Housing Association) hasn't signed something, so can't happen today.
Solicitor has returned money to lender, and we will try again for the 28th.
Strangely resigned to the fact, rather than being hugely disappointed.

I've got sod all work done today because I'm so distracted waiting for contact from the solicitors. I honestly don't know how we're meant to complete by next week now if the vendor's solicitors can't respond to a phone call! I think Monday is going to be spent negotiating with our landlord to see if he'll allow us to end our tenancy mid month.

ETA: And now it looks like I've missed a call from the solicitors and can't get back through  :s this is driving me loopy!!!!
