FTB here with my partner, thought I'd join in as it helps pass a bit of the waiting time!
2/7 - viewed house, offered asking price.
3/7 - offer accepted.
6/7 - mortgage application submitted via broker.
10/7 - DIP received. Solicitors instructed.
27/7 - lender's valuation instructed
Solicitor hasn't done anything yet as they haven't received a draft contract. Should this have happened by now? I've been following this forum for a while and it seems like there's just not a set order to do things! We really want to get this completed before winter as we're nervous about a lockdown happening. There's been 6 of us living in a house so we're all gasping for space now0 -
Feel like I can actually join this thread properly now! We are FTB buying a property with no chain and the seller having already moved and our timeline is..
First Viewing - 3rd June
DIP applied for and received - 5th June
Second Viewing - 8th June
Offer submitted and accepted - 9th June
Mortgage applied for (issues submitting due to mortgage officially being pulled from market) - 15th June
Valuation - 18th June
Solicitors instructed to begin searches - 24th July
Mortgage offer - 27th July
Hoping it all runs quickly and smoothly from here. Fingers still crossed for an august completion.

Well I signed my stuff today! 140 mile round trip but it was worth it so I wasn’t sat next to the letter box for weeks waiting for the postman.I was expecting lots of stuff but it was just a couple of pages and 3 signatures. The solicitors receptionist witnessed it.My solicitor is off till Wednesday then I’m hoping we can have a completion date for Monday or the following Monday. I have my deposit funds ready so it’s just a case of requesting the Halifax mortgage funds.I really really hope this is itMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

We did ours in tranches over 4 days as NatWest has a daily limit on online bank transfers. So we started the process Tuesday, exchanged Friday. It was easy enough and saved us fee of £23 if did it via CHAPS and a trip to a branch.
We had to transfer deposit to exchange contracts and have transferred stamp duty and solicitors fees today as we are completing on Friday. Sounds like you haven't exchanged yet but have signed contracts, if you haven't yet paid deposit?0 -
Its a right to acquire purchase so no need for exchange just completion as we’re already in the house and the majority of deposit is covered by the discount.Ooh I didn’t even think of that to be honest. My money is in the Natwest and it’ll be around £3700 needs paying to solicitors for deposit and fees. I’ll chase it up first thing Wednesday when she’s in. To be honest I think it’ll be the 10th I’m completing as Halifax need a few days notice so don’t think there will be enough time between Wednesday and next Monday.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700
