Definitely, I'm a FTB and the property I'm buying is also empty so no chain here either, but I'm already over the 5 month mark! Hoping the end is finally in sight now though :rotfl:
Same here. FTB and vacant property so no chain but currently 5 and a half months in and no exchange in sight. Still waiting for queries on buildings insurance and some other things to come through.0 -

Are you in contact with the seller? I got his number at like 3 month mark and it made the process significantly easier, at least I know exactly what's going on now!0 -

Sounds as if matters could well come together quickly now. Having dealt with selling an estate property recently. Was difficult to answer some of the enquiries made. Which caused some delays.0 -

Unfortunately not. I've met her a couple of times but didn't manage to exchange numbers. Also it was only at the 3 month mark that the seller paid her solicitor to request the management pack. There were weeks before then when I thought everything was ticking over but clearly it wasn't!
The estate agent has been pretty good on the whole but the original EA left the org at the end of Aug, (having failed to secure her commission) and the new one is ok but not as good. I get feedback that the seller is as frustrated as I am at how long it's taking but no way to verify anything. I just feel like I'm spending a lot of time calling/emailing/chivvying people along.0 -

- Suggested completion date of 31 October provided we exchange today or tomorrow (23/24 Oct)
Solicitors are now running around trying to get things in order. Argh.0 -
^ Any luck, usually need 5 days from exchange to completion which would have to be today?0

Finally got this information on Friday after much complaining that it's taking so long!
Sending this to the land registry on Monday and the solicitors are confident we can exchange within the next 2 weeks!:j
Please let us be close to the end finally!
Woohoo, got confirmation from the land registry that the issue has been resolved!
Just need the vendor's solicitor to confirm and send over the amended title and then we can talk about exchange/completion.
My file has been passed on to a new solicitor within the firm (this is the third one now!), although I haven't been able to get a hold of her at all but luckily got through to my old one and she's dealing with it for now!
Really hoping we can exchange before the end of next week :T:j0 -

Exactly, even though on Tuesday morning the developer said must complete on the 31st, they hadn't rubber stamped the part ex report. So they weren't actually ready. Chased all day yesterday, even spoke to HQ and they weren't aware we were waiting on them. Lender says if we exchange this morning and request mortgage funds it can be done but will be tight and funds will probably only arrive the morning of completion. So I've given them a midday deadline to exchange with completion on 31st, otherwise will have to push out completion date as it's not physically possible to get the money over. I also didn't want to request mortgage funds before exchange was confirmed.0
