    Congratulations!

for all the progress we seemed to make yesterday afternoon it has all slumped again today :(

I think exchange on Friday is now well and truly off the cards for us which really scuppers us financially to the point we may have to pull out of the transaction.

Gutted but we are not willing to bankrupt ourselves! Still trying to keep some hope!

Great news! How are you getting everything organised in a short space of time? Are selling and buying or buying only?

Selling and buying simultaneously, but we are buying an empty house from a part-exchange company who stipulated that 29th absolutely must be the completion date, which we were happy to agree to. We booked the movers last Friday (they are really nice, local company and happy to move dates if required and if they were able to) and I've spent two hours today calling utilities etc to tell them of the impending move. It was pretty much guaranteed that we would complete on the 29th as the house we are buying is empty and our buyer is FTB so she's in with family and was happy to agree to any dates and things. So there was only a very small risk that things weren't going to go as planned, so we took it and we've been gradually packing for the last two weeks. Day off work tomorrow to continue this and tie up all the loose ends. So exciting :)

Plus it helps that our buyer doesn't want to pick up the keys until Saturday so there's no pressure on the move to our new empty house and I can pop back later in the day to do some cleaning before I meet her on Saturday morning (shared ownership flat so I had to handle all the viewings etc and we have kept in touch throughout and I will be handing her the keys myself).

Well done, we have 3 weeks to completion and don't know how we are going to get everything done! Not started packing yet! I have started working through my list of utilities and booked removals though so gettimg there..

9 weeks in and still no sight of completion yet. We are ftb in a chain of 2 houses, top of chain moving into rented. Both us and our vendors have signed contracts and put a completion date of the 6th in but the top of the chain has refused and according to our vendors the top of chains solicitor is a nightmare to get hold of. We have a tight timescale as my partner is working away for 8 weeks from 21st July so if we don't complete by then it won't be until after September. Our vendor had offered to move out into temp accommodation to suit us but I've declined as I'd feel too guilty.

    Exchanged yesterday, completing tomorrow.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.
