Ooh so exciting times!
Timeline was for me:
15th Jan Put in offer on property
15th Jan Offer accepted
22nd Jan mortgage application
25th Jan text from Nationwide to say application received
28th Jan text from Nationwide to say valuation booked for 6th Feb
5th Feb text from nationwide to confirm valuation on 6th Feb
12th Feb Chased broker to ask what stage we were at - confirmed that application was at final underwriting
15th Feb call from broker chasing a few queries on behalf of underwriters
19th Feb mortgage offer text from Nationwide
20th Feb solicitors sent a huge amount of the searches completed to me to read. Fun times.
21st Feb call from estate agents updating me for where we are in process. My solicitor and vendors solicitor doing a back and forth question and answer querying things.
Really need to start packing the house now but don't have a clue where to start as not sure how long from now it will take to completion. I was really excited but it's faded quickly so am hoping that excitement will return as this is a huge milestone in life and not everyone gets to do this so feel very lucky and also a bit scared!
Good luck to everyone. I hope it all goes smoothly for you all.0 -
After three rollercoaster months, we've finally exchanged, with completion in 2 weeks (ny idea, I want some time to celebrate before the mortgage kicks in)! I feel relieved almost as much as when I got my first real job offer after uni
I know ownership won't be easy, there are tons of things to pay for and a mortgage as big as the world weighting me down, but I can't help grinning at the prospect of finally being in charge of my own things!GC £~~/3000 -
We signed the contracts to the sale of our house last week, and signed the contracts of purchase Tuesday. We understand our buyers have signed everything and are ready to go, but we're not sure of their buyers' position. There is no chain on the house we are buying.
Given it's only been 2 days since we last heard news, how long would you leave it till chasing the solicitors for an update? And asking if we can look at agreeing an exchange date?0 -
Completion today!!!! Awaiting a call to get the keys. Wondering how this works with Purplebricks as there’s no office to go to and seller is not responding to my calls....!!0

Quick update:
-Mortgage Offer confirmed on Friday, awaiting docs in the post for that.
-Had our own survey conducted yesterday. Surveyor generally happy but warned the boiler is ancient (we knew this), and that we should get our solicitor to ask about plans to update drainage/do any decoration on front of property from Freeholder, as it will possibly need to be done - freeholder is local council so not likely they'll do anything they don't have to, I expect.
-Email from solicitor yesterday to ask our permission to start searches. Have agreed as they've received the draft contracts.
I find I'm totally happy when people are communicating and keeping me updated, when it goes to radio silence, I start to get really anxious. House buying might drive me bananas!0 -
Still not exchanged, dont know why. Sad faces all round. How can I get proper information on what is going on up the chain when the estate agent I am dealing with knows less than I do?0

Congrats Aliliva :j:beer:
RXT exciting!
Janey, it was almost 2o clock so I have hope you did exchange today. If not, fingers crossed for tomorrow.
Trenny that's good news!
Cheery just few days more and you will move. Think about the hole process... I hate moving and living on take a way for weeks
So we went to view yeaterday. The vendor wasn't there. We still love it. Oh this glorious garden, so big and the cherry trees in the end... the huge kitchen maybe 10times bigger than mine here. My partner had dreams about the double garage and the workshop. He is quite handy.
The bedrooms are small but bedrooms are just for sleeping, right?
Today we has email from the solicitor with last questions answered so it may be soon. Still no date for exchange...0 -

Itll be interesting to see how this works too, Let me know how this goes as in a couple of weeks I'll be in same position with purplebricks0 -
No exchange - apparently there is a possessory title issue at the top of the chain, but someone agreed to pay for an indemnity policy today so we really actually might exchange tomorrow!! Hair going greyer by the second!0
