    I HAVE EXCHANGED :j

Yay, finally. Your input here inspired me to put my timeline on and join you all!
  • Great news CTC!
I'm now awaiting arrival of next door neighbour with bated breath and hoping it all starts happening the end of this week/start of next.

I've had a good distraction today though. I'm a school Librarian and gave my book club a Hogwarts lesson whilst I was dressed up as a Hogwarts teacher. Lots of fun and laughter.

We all need a Felix Felicis luck charm to get these house moves going!

:beer:Amazing !!!! CTC . Congrats. Was coming on here to check on your soap opera and what a happy ending it is!!
  • Fantastic news CTC!

Cheery Daff, I presume you'll be 'removing' that company from your shortlist then. :)

Solicitor emailed me back today to confirm that there are a few minor enquiries being tied up with the sale and only one enquiry left outstanding with the purchase. They're projecting exchange and completion shortly so hopefully, once these final issues are resolved we can finally start talking dates!

So I'm in my new house drunk on champagne. :j

My vendors still have keys!!!! Apparently they will drop them off. I couldn't change the lock as it turns out while removing a nightlatch is easy, snapping off the excess metal isn't.

I can't find that stopcock and the house needs a seriously good clean

I was also wrong - I need to paint before I move in

But I am so so happy! :j

Except for the fact the there are no plugs! So I couldn't take a bath  :rotfl:

Keep the faith - it will happen :D

    AARGH!!

    Still not exchanged.

    1. Either our vendor or his vendor has pushed completion date from 16th Feb to 23rd Feb with no explanation.
    2. His vendor's vendor's query is to do with getting all 12 parties of a residents association signing some paperwork to do with a private road.

Hubby is on the warpath tomorrow to at least get everyone to agree to exchange.

Meanwhile we have a cat with a leg full of metal pins that were due to come out just as we were moving. As she's still technically a Cats Protection cat, she'll stay in the vet hospital until she's properly demetalled and fully healed, rather than transferring mid-treatment to a completely new vet. Cats Protection will bring her down to us when she's ready, so they're only moving 14 cats for us on moving day in their van. Hoping the ear cancer cat is fully better by then - she's still wearing the Cone of Shame. Legcat and earcat are both in the back bedroom, legcat in a dog crate. Two semi-ferals in the middle bedroom who've never seen the outside world (weird backstory), and 3 more cats in the front bedroom (one batty old lady, and two more semi-ferals - they can all go out but one of them won't - she only wants me). The remaining 8 have the run of the house. I don't even want to think about the removal people trying to box up and load the van the day before and on moving day without letting any of the cats out - I'm going to let hubby deal with that.

I remember when I bought my first flat in 1994 - I took all my clothes off and rolled naked on the carpet, just because I could! This time all 4 of us will dance naked under the moonlight in the unoverlooked garden.

  • Eeeeep CTC so pleased for you! Hoping we don’t head into week 21, although sitting here at week 17 its not looking that unlikely!
Some more progress today - buyers searches are all back a week earlier than expected, and everything’s fine so they have given green light for exchange! They need a week to give notice on various savings accounts to release the cash, so we’ll exchange on the 8th and complete on the 15th! Hurrah. Removals booked (provisionally) and plans in place for alternative accommodation while we wait for our purchase to be ready.
The EA for the purchase actually rang me today, a whole 24 hours before she promised she would next update me :rotfl: and apparently at the top of the chain enquiries are being dealt with while they are waiting for searches to come back, so hopefully once those are recieved we’ll be able to progress with that transaction! Exciting! :T
