I'm very lucky that the house I was buying was the same street as my mum/next street to my nan.
The plan was always to move stuff to my nans garage and myself to my mums temporarily in order to keep my sale.
In fact I took 8 boxes over this week and I've got more to take this weekend.
The purchase is still stuck in probate.
I'm now going to start looking again or I'll rent if it's clear it's going to take a while.
My sale will still go ahead and I was always more worried about them pulling out rather than me having to.
It hasn't been all bad. It has made it clear that I do need to move back closer to family.
Their reactions and joy at me being more local again has been very enlightening to say the least.3 -

@julicorn Just read your update that sounds like loads of positives today. You may not be much further behind with your purchase - a amazing. Let’s hope the EA come back to you quickly to let you know what the vendors response to the revised offer is- fingers crossed0 -
We’ve just signed all of our contract, land registry transfer etc and I’ll be dropping them off at the solicitors tonight after work.
Transfer being organised today for our partially gifted deposit and completion balance to be cleared in the next day or two.
Just got off the phone from our solicitor who confirmed she’s had the fund release confirmation from Santander that the mortgage funds will be released on 7th Dec ready for 8th Completion.
I asked if we have an exchange date as our paperwork just says “As soon as possible” on it, she said they don’t have set exchange dates most of the time when there’s no chain and just do it as soon as the other party is ready - she’s just said that if we get our contract back in and deposit paid ASAP, they will exchange as soon as the vendors solicitor confirm they are ready.I don’t know how normal that is but it suits me to be honest!0 -

I just called the estate agent and they called the vendor’s solicitor, apparently now they say they are looking to exchange today and will be in touch with our solicitor. Unfortunately they have been saying in the last three weeks that they are “looking to exchange this week” too many times, and obviously every week it turned out they were still not ready, so I don’t have much hope for exchanging today. I know it’s going to happen eventually, but I won’t be surprised if they suddenly come up with something else after saying they are ready (which they have also said at least twice in the past).2

We’ve had contract paperwork and TR1 to sign for our sale today so I guess that means we are almost ready to exchange. However as we want to link our sale and purchase to complete at the same time we are still waiting.
Purchase isn’t ready for exchange due to the previous conveyencing error that’s been picked up.
we have let our buyers know and they are happy to wait for us (within reason) but we should have been ready to go 🥲1 -
So our buyers have not accepted indemnity insurance regarding their final enquiry, so our solicitor has argued back that while the restrictive covenant is still on the title, it is not relevant and has no affect on their client.Today I have felt very very stressed and deflated. Especially seeing as now our EA is giving me the silent treatment. No response all week to calls/emails. Sigh.Would it be out of order at this stage now (buyers are FTB, paid for searches/survey etc) to suggest re listing the property? We haven’t signed contracts and continue to wait on tr1 because of this final enquiry. Just fed up of it all.0
