Well apparently the vendor has been chasing for dates. We can't discuss dates until their solicitor has responded to the enquiries they've been sitting on for two weeks!

Just wondering if anyone knows, is it possible to ask your solicitor what enquiries they’ve raised? I’m buying with no chain and the seller has no chain, enquiries started a week ago but I’m wondering if I can ask what enquiries were raised by my solicitor?
    Absolutely!
Our solicitor has sent us a copy of the enquiry email he sent to the vendor's solicitor.

I think some solicitors tend to save up all the information to send to you in one go but I like to know where we're at throughout in case there is something holding everything else up. Or in case there's something that would put a stop to everything else if I knew about it.

Just ask, the worse they can say is no 🤷
  • Chain of 3, been told we must exchange tomorrow (new build and have extended the deadlines lots now due to delays further down the chain), all solicitors said we are good to go tomorrow (after a scare as contracts had been misplaced in the middle). Praying now that it all goes through as so many !!!!!! ups 🤞

Update on mine, after two months of delays, today I receive the deeds, contract and SDLT from the solicitor and sent them off. Vendors are also in a position to exchange on their purchase. I am now in touching distance. Solictor has the despit, so just the fee's to send when I get the completion statement.

Bit the bullet this afternoon and emailed the EA and my Solicitor to see what the enquiries are and if anyone has any ideas when they will be answered, I like to know where I’m at so I can be as prepared as possible for every step, I’m worried as I live up north and am buying up here and my seller is living down south so it could cause some delays on every step from now hence why I’m wanting to keep on top of everyone!

  • Chain of 3, how long does the actual exchange take? Bottom solicitors confirmed yesterday that they were ready to exchange but no one has been able to contact them yet this morning 😬
