Just wondering if anyone knows, is it possible to ask your solicitor what enquiries they’ve raised? I’m buying with no chain and the seller has no chain, enquiries started a week ago but I’m wondering if I can ask what enquiries were raised by my solicitor?0

. We have emailed the estate agent today and said we would like to complete by 31st August considering this is a no chain purchase of the rental house we’re currently living in. It’s all dependent on the incompetence of the vendors solicitors (who took 6 weeks to send the draft contracts), but we live in hope!

They finally came in yesterday. Our buyer is now pushing saying their mortgage offer expires at the end of August so they need to get the move done asap, not sure i buy this as we were told on 07/07 that they had received their offer so was it really only valid for 2 months???!!! I suspect its more to do with them wanting to get out of their rented without too much overlap.
But anyway we should hopefully be exchanging in the next week and looking to complete in 2 weeks 12th August!
Jeez and no one chased the vendors solicitors? The estate agent or vendor should have been doing that! Although maybe the vendor was buying time and asked their solicitors to delay. I guess completing as soon as possible is in your interest too so doesn't really matter.0 -

Heard from our solicitor today that all enquiries are now complete so we are ready.... she's asked us to come to the office next week to sign the contracts. No actual dates / information about exchange and completion have been given yet though so unsure still what the timescales are. So excited but still feel like we don't know much!!1

Very frustrated with solicitors at the moment. We've basically wasted like 2 weeks with something which could've been resolved in a day with a phone call.

We've been "95% ready to complete" for 2 weeks now. Just need a couple of indemnity policies and then we're ready to exchange. Yes I basically ring up solicitors every day or two to find out what my solicitors are actually doing or if they have responded. We used them on our sale last autumn and they did a good job. Not sure why they are being difficult this time around.
