  • Almost there! Completion is due next week but still waiting on exchange. Sellers solicitor just waiting on redemption statement from other side and then its all confirmed. I feel like it is within reaching distance after such a long time!
Fingers crossed. How long has it been?
5.5 months..... Started as a chain of 3, now its a chain of 2 after my buyer dropped out and I had to finance the house another way.
I am hoping it all falls into place. I do not have to move next week so its not urgent but I kind of have set my heart on the date so I will be disappointed. Suppose we will all get there eventually!  I saw your other post and feel your pain. Those who get straightforward house purchases and very lucky.
They are very lucky indeed. Good luck for the the hopeful end to the madness for you!

All enquiries on our sale are dealt with and we are ready to exchange early next week for completion the week after. I'm shaking I'm so nervous and excited, I can't believe we finally got here!
Excellent news - remind me how long it’s taken?!?
We got an offer on our place in November, we offered on a house in December just before the holidays. Conveyancing didn't really start until after new year and we had quite a few hiccups (for example, finding out our previous solicitor for the place we are selling never registered us on the land registry, a total f up!!) but it all got sorted.

I was meant to exchange today and my vendors solicitor & estate agent were not responding to my solicitor. No idea what's going on but now I will spend the weekend worrying  :'(
  • Hopefully exchanging on Monday … keeping fingers crossed the seller doesn’t go quiet again!

Apparently my inquiries are going in on Monday I guess it’s how long is a piece of string as to how long they take ?
I really wanted to be in by mid April was hoping to spend Easter cleaning it up and doing a bit of painting that’s starting to feel optimistic.

It most definitely is how long is a piece of string!  Our simple enquiries took ages but this was due to sellers rubbish solicitors . We are at 6 weeks and fingers crossed everything seems to be in order with responses to enquiries . Hope it it is a quicker process for you

Finally completed our sale this week after 9 weeks (we moved in with family).  The longest and most tedious part being the waiting upon enquiries from the buyers solicitor. Luckily our sols were fabulous.

Now for part two… our onward purchase,  offer accepted 5 weeks ago, enquiries sent this week…. The sellers onward purchase won’t be ready for a couple of months so it’ll be interesting how it moves here on in….. for now I’m relaxing 😎

Ohh fingers crossed for you! We've had a bit of a nightmare trying to send our deposit over, so need to try again first thing when the bank open tomorrow. I'm not confident we will actually get to exchange tomorrow now.. but we live in hope.
