Gutted for you @RS2000.

Thank you.
You hear stories from colleagues, friends or on this very forum about the trials and tribulations of buying/selling homes and there's not a lot you can say other than "fingers crossed it all comes good for you".
But when going through it yourself the stress can be beyond ridiculous. I would bet a significant sum this process has knocked a small chunk off my life expectancy!1 -
I'm so sorry to hear that @RS2000
I know it is not much consolidation but some banks you can only transfer £25k a day online. But I know like many I made provisions for this to ensure my solicitor could receive the funds.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that next week is kinder to you. When are you due to complete?

Unbelievably the 4th proposed completion date from my buyers solicitors, and they have failed to deliver on 3 of them so far.
Why on earth would they propose completion dates up the chain when they are not in a position to achieve them, I just don't get it.

@RS2OOO I am really sorry. It doesn't make sense why they keep doing this to you. I know it will be a tough weekend for you and your family. Are your estate agents/progressors open on a Saturday?0 -
@RS2000.
It's probably not much consolation but it is possible to send a CHAPS payment via some online banking systems so there's a little hope they have done it.
I went to a bank branch yesterday to send my deposit funds over and they said to do it online otherwise they'd have to fill out a bunch of paperwork and do ID checks (possibly because it was a Friday afternoon and they wanted to go home).
Although I thought it was a bizarre way of sending the payment as there's nothing to indicate that's what you're doing, you send them a message with who you're paying and the bank details and then someone, somewhere, gets that message and does it for you.
Good luck though, hope it all works out.0 -
We sent over our deposit and fees payment yesterday, which is the furthest milestone we've reached so far.
We have a completion date set for the 28th January.
The possibility of ending the last eighteen months of awfulness is inching nearer.
My biggest concern is that, as a result of the aforementioned awfulness, I've become quite grumpy, bitter and most likely, quite depressed.
And I'm worried that this has become a permanent change to my personality.0 -

I'm hoping it will change once we pick up the keys and start filling up the van!0 -

EA is a big name one and they are open, but the progressors don't work weekends.
I fired off a complaint to EA last night, the 2nd one in 5 months. It took 3 hours to write and ended up being just 3 or 4 sentences long! It kind of evolved as the anger subsided!
Counted through my phone history. I have left 42 messages for sales progressor in the last 5 months, and only had 7 calls returned in that time, and none returned yesterday and I had been unconditionally promised they'd update me before close of business as they were in discussions with buyer and his solicitor. I am paying them £5220 for this transaction so to my mind the service being received is simply not good enough.
Anyway, let's just hope we can exchange on Monday.1
