Still waiting to exchange; comment from my solicitor on speaking to the buyers solicitor,
"To be honest, the lawyer sounded like he was half asleep and had not got up to speed on the file."
It is so frustrating!!

Well it's been a roller coaster of a ride with an unhappy ending. After questioning the seller if they actual want to proceed with the sale the seller signed and returned the contract. Delayed exchanging until they could confirm removals availablity. All confirmed and booked on Monday, gave authority and tried to exchange yesterday. Seller pulls out this morning. Heartbroken. No idea why they decided to wait until the very end. Stringed us along the whole way by dragging it out. Extremely angry and now have considerable fees to pay for nothing to show for it.sacvwgolf said:
Updated today to say the seller has had a 'change in personal circumstances' and would sign the contract later this week. Been 4 weeks since the contracts were posted out and we returned ours the day after. Pretty sure the seller is going to pull out.sacvwgolf said:EA said the seller signed and posted the contract to their solicitors yesterday so hopefully it'll arrive today
Of course the EA lied to us!FTB

I'm so sorry, @S@sacvwgolf. That sounds really atrocious... It seemed like they'd got cold feet; but why they didn't take the opportunity to pull out when you asked is baffling. I can't imagine how frustrated and upset you must be.sacvwgolf said:

Do you have any insurances on the costs you paid? Our solicitors adds an insurance option by default which limits the conveyancing cost to £75 + costs (so searches etc) if the chain fails. I'm not sure if it's standard but I didn't notice it the first time ours failed; so I thought it might be worth mentioning.
I'm so sorry.Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:1 -
Our buyers solicitor has now woken up; only to find that he hasn't as yet verified the source of his clients deposit! Now looking to exchange Thursday or Friday. Not impressed.

@sacvwgolf I am so sorry. After all these. And pulled out at the very last minute after the contract has been signed.
@Ref44 hope it doesn't take long to do the verification.FTB on no chain house

I don't believe so. I have asked for the final bill but I am not holding my breath. We will certainly be taking out insurance from now onHopeAndDriftWood said:
