It's just frustrating as apart from that everything and everyone is ready to go0 -
With possible discussion of dates arising... I have just ordered moving boxes. Feels a bit scary real now. I want to get started nice and early as feasibly there is loads right now I can live without for a few months (although lets hope it doesn't take that long!)1

Five months after my offer was accepted and I've been sent a copy of the contract to sign and return! Much excitement.
Oh wait, no... It lists me under the seller heading with nobody under the buyer heading. Probably just put me on the wrong line, but if we assume that, it still has me listed as buying the property jointly *with* the vendor. Is this some kind of legal quirk, or just my solicitors failing to proofread again?0 -

Sold our house in March, offer accepted on a property in April, and our vendors still haven't found their onward purchase 6 months later. Mortgage offer is running out in a couple of weeks. Our buyer is so patient, we keep her up to date on everything, and have let her come around to measure up but our vendors seem really chaotic and pretty unrealistic with their house expectations.
We have started looking for alternatives, chain free or pre-existing chain properties as we are desperate to move by Christmas. Offered on one, best and final rejected by snobby estate agents today as it was under guide price (its absolutely over priced and needs loads of work, and there has been only one other offer, also under guide due to condition). I think what broke me today was hearing our vendor rejecting a second viewing for at least 6 weeks 'as life is too busy' and these other estate agents suggesting we are offering on properties outside of our price range and are unrealistic (nope, your house is within budget, but over-priced!!)
Tell me this is achievable, we're 7 months in and no end in sight.
You seriously need to be issuing your vendors an ultimatum and be prepared to walk away as 6 months is plainly ridiculous. They surely cannot think it’s acceptable to keep you dangling for months on end!
How confident are you that your lender will extend your mortgage offer and for how long?
Also bear in mind that searches are only valid for 6 months so depending on when they were completed they may need to be reapplied for.
Unfortunately with only 10 weeks left until Christmas I would have thought as the chain is still incomplete moving this year might be a stretch too far.
I agree EAs can be difficult but ultimately it’s sellers that reject or accept offers not their agent.

Christmas is certainly looking highly unlikely as you said; we had hoped this new chain-free one would accept our offer but nope.0 -
