We are only moving 5 minutes drive away so there’s the potential for shuttle runs.
You can't move anything into the new property until after completion, at which point you can't go back to your current property.2 -

Our solicitor raised enquiries on search results on 04/08. Waited three weeks and no update. I did my own snooping and the sellers solicitor (recommended by EA, of course) hadn’t even submitted enquiries to local council.
EA tells me they’d been overlooked but were submitted just before bank holiday in August and we’ve been waiting ever since. Chased today but still no progress. Our buyer (cash buyer) has been waiting over a month (we are all done on our sale) so the stress is really cranking up that we could lose all this at the last minute through a solicitors complete inept ability.Have to beat the stamp duty deadline. No ifs no buts.
Similar position, our sellers solicitors are terrible, but we decided a while ago that whilst the £2500 saving would be handy it isn't a deal breaker for us. But, our purchase depends on our sale, and all parties in the chain below have been ready to complete since July!! So far, with a bit of persuasion, the chain below have been incredibly patient but I suspect that is wearing thin now.Still no news our end - radio silence since last week when both us and our seller were ready to exchange. Even the EA has not responded to us and we were supposed to go and view to measure up. The solicitors at top of the chain are apparently still waiting for their client’s signed contract! How long does that take to return?! Surely not seven days (five working days).Hoping for better news for everyone waiting for tomorrow!
I think everyone one else should do the same hahaha

Still no documents received from what I can see. I'm getting so frustrated now.
They said they wanted a quick sale but we've got nothing from their solicitors yet and I'm not paying for anything until they at least send over something!
Hoping for some movement soon as this is taking the P now!0 -

waiting for a reply to enquiries, the last search is due back 22nd my solicitor is brilliant he knows how important the deadline is to us, the vendor solicitor not so much, even the EA can’t get through to themMy current mortgage is Clydesdale so I’m porting it over, I think they are very good too, mortgage offer received really quick!Im hoping for some progress today because I’m getting nervous!0 -
Our solicitors finally got the mining rights indemnity sorted, our new builds solicitor was trying to turn it around yesterday late afternoon as the they had 3 conditions to agree to for us to be able to take the indemnity out.
Hoping they have it sorted to exchange later today, our new build rep is away till Tuesday so she won’t be able to update us till then and our solicitor is not the most easiest to communicate with.
Really hoping for once this can be sorted today without us having to keep pushing all parties.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
So we have finally got hold of NatWest mortgage advisor (took 3 days and me being a nuisance to get back to me, which is odd cause she has been really responsive before this) and we have submitted our amended application based on the reduced price - she has said this needs to go back to the underwriters and could take a few days 😬😬😬.
Our vendors solicitor still hasn’t received the transfer form, and the vendor needs to post it back by Tuesday before they go away (for 3 weeks) to complete before end of the month, so they need to receive it Monday really, meaning it should be with the solicitor by yesterday/today for them to post (our vendor also doesn’t have a printer). Also 😬😬😬
Our buyer’s solicitor is proposing a completion date today, but I’m not sure if we can agree to one yet given all of the above. Also 😬😬😬And the removal company I had lined up are now fully booked til the end of the month. More 😬😬😬
How can this all come together in time? It feels like it can’t at the minute, and I’m loosing hope of the SDLT holiday being of any use to us at all. I guess it was worth a shot right? Do I give up yet?19/7: Sale property on market

Congrats to those I’ve seen who have finally made progress and good luck to the rest of us for some good news today.
Our time left to exchange and meet the deadline is rapidly dwindling as I think solicitors are away in between as well.I’m beginning to think the stress of trying to meet the deadline is not worth the money it’s saving! Not very MSE of me I know haha, but the rush to get there at all costs is the root of all the anxiety, not to mention other’s inactivity.2
