So sorry to hear you are going through this uncertainty @MayMark. It is the worst thing, the not knowing.

I went through a similar thing with exchange and I think it was at least 6 or 7 days, with several different reasons (including solicitors not being able to get hold of each other) but eventually the EA got to the bottom of it and it was the bottom of the chain funding issue.

So if it is something like indemnity hopefully it will be sorted soon. It’s so frustrating just hearing a different story every day and demoralising when there’s no progress.

Then just when I’d given up hope it happened late one afternoon after about 6 attempts.

Hoping for better news for you soon. Don’t lose hope it sounds like you are close and that does sound like a genuine reason so hope it will be tomorrow for you!

Do you think there is a a bigger issue going on that we aren’t being told about?  I am contacting solicitor and estate agents daily!
If the issue is further up the chain. Then politely put, it's none of your business. Whatever is going on. Little point in chasing as you've no control over the resolution. You can only wait and hope.

@rose_T The limbo is the worst. Sorry to hear what you’ve had to go through but hope it gets sorted soon. I love the idea of magic key dust spreading to all on this thread!

Congratulations @Louise.H that is brilliant news. Giving me some hope that our second attempt at completion will happen this week. Enjoy the fun part and good luck with the unpacking.
@ss2020jd any news on yours? You must be going mad!
Thanks @Deleted_User - I have been! I was just coming on to update.

So after radio silence all day and all manner of things going through my mind, finally heard late this evening that the bottom of the chain’s solicitor have confirmed the funds. I am waiting for confirmation from my solicitor as have yet to hear that’s a fact but fingers crossed something will happen tomorrow.

I think there are some other bits going on behind the scenes with solicitors regarding the breach of contract but I just want completion at this point.

So watch this space and hopefully I can share some positive news tomorrow.

Well done to everyone who’s made progress today and hang in there everyone else!
@ss2020jd that's absolutely wonderful news!! I'm so happy for you and keeping everything crossed for you.

Thank you so much for your reply, it’s good to know someone has been through the same day by day no progress and then actually got there in the end! Demoralising is exactly how it feels right now, fingers crossed tomorrow is our lucky day! Thanks again 😊

It’s our buyers buyer so it effects our sale we are at second to top of the chain of 5 (number 4).

I feel like nobody cares about me as the seller, not even my own EA. I had to jump through hoops for my first buyer and feel like I am doing it again for my second. It's become an enormous financial strain having to suddenly pay £700 to fix one thing, and £800 to fix another, and I just don't have the money. We only have enquiries left to go but I just feel broken.
Please tell me it'll be worth it.  :'(

I feel your pain on this. We're at the start of the chain, joining much later than everyone else as our sellers' first buyer fell through. So we'd assumed we'd be the ones holding things up, and have been making sure to hurry everything along as much as we can. We also proposed a completion date of 20th Aug to aim for with the EA to communicate with the rest of the chain. After 2 weeks of not getting a response, the top of the chain has now said they're worried it'll "come too soon". I get that it might not be doable, but we're trying to set out a timeline so we can all make sure things don't stall out!

We've asked for clarification, because if there is a specific reason this can't work for them we really need to know! Even though we're not directly connected to the rest of the chain, what happens at one point impacts everyone and the lack of clarity is very frustrating.

I hope you get some sort of answer, @MayMark, that will put your mind at ease. Good luck!

That sounds tough, I'm sorry! It will be worth it in the end (or at least that's what I keep telling myself!) Hope things go smoothly for you from now on.
