So the disaser played out - the top of the chain pulled out and collapsed it. I've said we'll stick with our purchase so they can find something hopefully before the next stamp duty cut off in September. Hope everyone else has better luck today
So sorry to hear this- totally feeling your pain.

We came so close to exchange and, like you, I had a feeling it was going to collapse at the last minute. We're also forcing ourselves to accept that we might even be talking post-September, but we're praying that the housing gods smile on us and reward us with an August move. I'd take earlier (obviously), but let's be real...I hope they smile on you soon as well.

Emailing local search authority was a great shout… just got this back…

Good afternoon we have only recently received this search request.
However, I have completed it today and e-mailed the results back to the search Company.

    Let’s see that paperwork!

@BountyBlink have you exchanged?? I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I was very busy this morning and missed all the action on the thread, just catching up now!

Had a bit of back and forth with agent and solicitor in copy, my solicitor hasn't com back yet. I have absolutely no clue if she's even attempting to exchange today. I've sent a slightly angry email saying that as i've been saying for the past few weeks, I really need to complete by the 28th at the very latest, so we either exchange today or Monday, but still no reply. The agent is currently as clueless as me. He is now saying I need to tell my solicitor to chase the seller's solicitor to exchange today. Which I've already done twice this morning. I am confused.

Thanks for the kind words. Sounds like we'll both be on here in August then! Bring it on :D

I agree about @BountyBlinkI emailed the local authority myself too (also impatiently awaiting to hear the results) and would never have realised that this could be done without your helpful advice, thank you! I really do hope you've exchanged by now!!!

I see the pain goes on for everyone else - so sorry! I hope some of the chasing pays off today.

Ahh @Rincewindcl Sorry to hear about the chaos, at least you have some movement and it's not a total collapse.

I feel less bad ranting at my solicitor for a potential week delay now!

I'm hoping once all the end of the month completions are done we'll get firing. I'm banking on 2nd week in July now

In a bizarre turn of events, my solicitor has just told me the seller wants an end of June completion. This is totally out of the blue!

Shortly after my offer was accepted, my question about the sellers wishes regarding SDLT deadline were brushed under the carpet stating it was too early and then was never mentioned again!

Doesn't particularly matter to me as I'm a FTB, but I'm now feeling some pressure/obligation to do everything I can (request LISA closure now) to make sure we do complete before the end of the month.
Enquiries aren't even back from the sellers solicitor yet!

Not putting money on this going through  :D
