We sent our signed contracts to our solicitor yesterday ( hand delivered)..wonder how long it will take for exchange and completion. We have been told all parties are aiming for June . We have 5 in the chain and we accepted our offer on the 25th March and had our offer accepted Friday 26th March on the house we want to buy.

Progress here... our sellers have agreed to complete in June and we should be able to exchange by the end of the month.
Removals seem to have doubled in price since we moved last (admittedly 9 years ago) so need to do some serious research there. At least a hopefully long period between exchange and completion should give us some time to arrange.0 -
I got quotes ranging from 600-1200!!! All are fully booked now so man and a van it is with a few prayers it all fits lol0

We signed ours at the start of Jan so depends if anything else comes up that can delay it. We were convinced we would be moved by the middle of Jan - if we only knewKazzam1984 said:We sent our signed contracts to our solicitor yesterday ( hand delivered)..wonder how long it will take for exchange and completion. @caz_cardiff87 – that’s great news, hope all goes quickly and smoothly for you. Hopefully I’ll be just a couple of days behind you, fingers crossed for us both!
@Justonemorecupoftea – so sorry to hear that. Hope you can retain them, otherwise, I’m sure you’ll get another buyer quickly. Good luck.
@Caz_Mnaz – you must be so close now if you’ve had the completion statement. Hope you get to complete on the 28th, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Sounds like some good progress for others too, always nice to read some encouraging replies. Hope things move along for everyone a little more today!

Removals are really expensive currently, I wonder if they are taking advantage of how busy the market is but supply and demand I guess.jenni_fer said:Progress here... our sellers have agreed to complete in June and we should be able to exchange by the end of the month.

I got quotes ranged from 2-4k when I sold but I was relocating nearly 400 miles. In the end I found a man and van who did it for £1500 but that was only a 3.5 tonne Luton, which was fine for our house but wouldn't have been for a larger house.
This time we are self hiring a van but our stuff is in storage so already packed and we don't have too much due to being ruthless with getting rid of stuff when we relocated. If I had a whole house to pack up again, I would definitely be getting the experts in!
I am sure you will find something, smaller independents tend to charge a lot less and I found quite a few on Facebook etc and by posting on local Facebook groups for recommendations.
Good news you have a completion date. Good luck with it all.0
