Wishing everyone the best of luck for this week. I have my fingers crossed for all of us!
Brief exchange of emails with our Estate Agent over the weekend where our buyer seems to be reassuring us they want to go ahead and exchange ASAP, irrespective of their situation (being unable to relocate for 3/6 months). This hasn't done much for reassuring us given we've not had entirely truthful responses from them in the past - so if we haven't had any certainty on the situation by the end of the week we might need to start having some difficult conversations...1 -
Well I had a call from my EA this morning, my buyers mortgage has been declined and they have pulled their offer. Ten weeks from the offer being accepted and three weeks after we were due to complete. Their lawyer has spent the last three weeks telling us the offer is days away.. so frustrating that my purchase is now likely to fall through due to no fault of my own. Property back on the market already, but so angry and frustrated at this stupid process!

That's what happened to us... Chain collapsed on day of exchange in Jan (below us) new chain formed a week later.... Its now May and we've been sat ready to go with our purchase since Jan.... It DRAGS 🤦♀️Josephgousto said:Some good news here from our purchase ... all the searches, enquiries, etc are back and we are ready to start talking dates.
BUT after having to find a new buyer for our property about a month ago, our sale is lagging behind
our buyers haven´t even got their mortgage offer yet..1 -

@HannahEL84 - oh no, I'm so sorry. I guess there was an issue they hoped they could overcome, but in the end couldn't - that seems to be a common occurrence. Hope you find another buyer fast, I'm sure you will.0

HelloCould i pls get some advice on utilities?Im finally moving out of parents into my own home with my partner. So we're not switching broadband/ water/ gas/ electricity bills etc, and i was wondering what the best step would be for when we move in (2 weeks time). How quickly does it normally take to set up these bills for brand new customers?I need to wfh so would like to get wifi sorted asap. Thanks (we're purchasing a home that currently has tennants- leaving this week)0

There should be water, gas and electricity to use straight away - you need to either find out who the supplier is, or when you switch to another provider they will tell you, and that original supplier will bill you for the initial period before you switch. Have a look on here to find the best/cheapest provider for you.jeaniemsm said:HelloCould i pls get some advice on utilities?Im finally moving out of parents into my own home with my partner. So we're not switching broadband/ water/ gas/ electricity bills etc, and i was wondering what the best step would be for when we move in (2 weeks time). How quickly does it normally take to set up these bills for brand new customers?I need to wfh so would like to get wifi sorted asap. Thanks (we're purchasing a home that currently has tennants- leaving this week)
Broadband would be the one where you might not have this to start with, so try set up as soon as you have a completion date, but if they're busy or you don't get a completion date until last minute then expect you might be without it for a week or so - depending on if work is needed or if it's as easy as sending you a router for an existing connection.Property buying/selling timeline - currently into week 21

Very sorry to hear this. We are expecting a similar call today or tomorrow. Ok looks like our purchase is not going to be imminent and our mortgage offer is due to expire on the 28th of this month, as we are now in temporary accommodation (house sitting arrangement) does any one know if this will have any bearing on getting the mortgage extended?0

Thank you. Apparently her deposit was coming from family overseas and the lender didn’t like that! Surely this should have been something her broker checked before he placed them with the lender. Very frustrating. Currently cleaning frantically getting the place ready for (hopefully!) more viewings!hippocrates1 said:
