Well I have no idea what to think. I spoke to our vendor's EA and they've said they are fine and will wait on this outstanding enquiry in the chain. Ok, but why are they messaging me telling me they will put the house back on the market if we can't complete this week. So I think they are hanging in there for now, but still by a thread I feel. It's going to be a long and painful however many more weeks. :(

@Natbag Solidarity. It's so wearing and you've got it tough right now. This shows that EAs tend to be economical with the truth as they try to keep all parties in play. At least your seller is hanging in there for now. I wonder whether they think you'll be more susceptible to pressure. Horrible for you if that's the case.

My husband just found this confession on Twitter & I had to share cos it's brilliant 😂 "After a moderately successful TV and film actor we were buying a house from pulled out the sale, I spent an afternoon rating their acting performances on review sites and got their average star rating down from a 4 to a 1."
This made me smile, need it at the minute still no news on our purchase and now down to last 3 weeks of mortgage offer - sellers EA seems to of gone AWOL so no idea where they are at sorting out the land registry issue.
Fingers crossed someone gets some positive news this week as it seems really thin on the ground on here

I think it was just their way of trying to exert some pressure, the problem is, the issue isn't with me and I can't make it go any faster no matter how hard I push (and I am trying). To send me that message personally on a bank holiday Monday rather than discuss it with their EA or solicitor just seems mean, and the only thing it did was cause me a great deal of stress. I'm hoping that they've been convinced that it's going to be quicker to wait than to start again, especially as we've had assurance that both buyers are fine to wait. I don't know. I don't think that's the last time they'll do this though :(

Waiting on the Land Registry here too - my heart sank when my solicitor said it had to go to LR. It is being expedited though, or so she said. But why she didn't tell me it had to go to them originally and set my expectations accordingly I don't know. I thought it only had to go to the lender. Sigh.

Haven't posted in a while, gets boring writing we're still waiting day after day 😬.  Anyway we're now on month 6 of this palarva and we had the news yesterday that our vendors want to put house back on market.

Chain of 7 😳 with flat at bottom needing a dreaded deed of variation that was requested about 7 weeks ago.  Freeholder refusing to sign it now just because flat owners phoned them to tell them to get a move on.
The rest of us have been ready since end of March. Sooo frustrating as we're at the mercy of them and can't do anything.

Fed up with it all really, chatted to our agent yesterday and him and the agent of who we're buying from are trying their best to smooth it over to keep chain from collapsing. Hats off to them as they are working like troopers.

Fingers crossed for some news soon ☹️

Noooooooooo, don't say that. I'm in a similar position, we are waiting on a deed of variation in the chain (of 6) that needs to go to the Lamd Registry now it has been agreed, and my vendors are threatening to put the house back on the market. It's so stressful. Have you been waiting 7 weeks for the LR? Was it expedited?

  • Non update update from me! Had letters last week to say the mortgage valuation info hadn’t made it to our solicitors from the lender could we sort it-phoned and fingers crossed although bank think they’ve already got it. Next day letter arrives asking for more information about our deposit-it’s inheritance money from my mum and we’d already provided what I thought was enough but hey ho so that’s going backwards and forwards.

Nothing else happening as far as I know, vendors didn’t put preferred dates on their paperwork so I’m just hoping they actually want to move ASAP and buyers are likewise but we’re still a little way off anything happening.

Massive charity shop and top trip today to clear out more junk I don’t want to pay people to move!

@GoingOn3 This is really useful & goes through pros and cons of same day exchange/completion.

Sorry! I have been reading your tale over the past few days.

We're waiting on freeholder of flat to sign the doc.  Everything else is done.  LR hasn't been mentioned.  Oh, please let them not have to do it as well 😳
