So according to our vendor, exchange will be happening tomorrow??? I'll believe that when I hear it from my solicitor, this guy has been quite arrogant throughout the whole process & I'm not believing a word he says!
Fingers crossed for the morning!0 -
Fingers crossed all round. I'm steeling myself for a call to the lender first thing to see if they've made a decision (could sit around waiting for a call from the broker I suppose but I'll spend all morning biting my nails instead of getting on with my work!)
Still want to have a proper structural survey  Feel like I should have done it before week 11but I was waiting til after the mortgage came through and didn't think at all it would take this blithering long  Also want to go back for a second viewing. Get the impression I may end up being seen as someone who's messing about
Hey ho. Might have a stiff drink tonight in preparation0 -
Fingers crossed for everyone for tomorrow.
The council finally got back to us and said they're not planning to take any enforcement action regarding the landscaping, but the lender still has to sign off on it so I guess I've got to see what the next few days brings.hopefully they say it's fine, and hopefully they say it tomorrow so we can still complete on Friday. I don't even know what it means if they say it's a problem
I am so ready for all this to be over.

Urgh, fingers crossed Clueless. I share your pain on wanting it to all be over!
Gritted my teeth and rang the lender when they opened at 8. Solicitor's letter was passed to their surveyors, who did an update on the valuation and sent it back yesterday - so now we just have to wait for the underwriters to look at it and get back to us. They said 2-3 working days, which takes us to Monday, but given they originally said they'd get back to us yesterday I hope it's sooner than that...
So basically I don't know anything more than I did half an hour ago:rotfl:

Cheery Daff, you're perfectly entitled to go view again - you're spending a lot of money on a property so it's reasonable to ask for another quick look round, measure up, etc. Not sure about asking for a full building survey this late, but again, it's a lot of money!
Cluelessftb, that sounds stressful too. Hope everything gets sorted and that you also can complete by Friday. I'm sure once you're in, in the grand scheme of things it won't see as bad.
Not much happening for me today, just packing and getting as ready as we can be to move tomorrow in case we can complete, but we won't actually find out until tomorrow. Which means I can't hire a van until the day and run the risk of not getting one, and if we don't move then we won't be able to get to any of our stuff for three days. Fun times!:rotfl:0 -

Cheery Daff how old is the house? A structural survey is a good idea for an older one as it may show up thousands in repairs. It's not your fault the lender has taken so long.0
-
House is 130 years old Scotbot - the one we're selling was built the same year though so I've got a good idea of what's probably wrong with it and we offered accordingly. We just want to make sure there's nothing structural before we commit.
Also there's an outbuilding quite close to the house that had a damaged roof when we viewed - I went past the other day and this has now caved in entirely. Won't be offering less for that either as we knew it was unusable - but I would like to make sure the walls arent likely to collapse into the side of the house...
Certainly won't be quibbling over electrics, bits of damp or anything, amd we desperately want the house - just don't want to buy it and find it's actually falling down...
Wish we'd done it weeks ago while waiting for the mortgage now - but as we still don't know if they'll lend on the house at all, shelling out even more dosh seemed pointless :eek:0 -
Exchange and complete tomorrow, what could possibly go wrong :rotfl::rotfl:0
