Yes I do. Would you be happy to pick up a 40p tin of beans then you get to the till and they charge you £2.

How do you know what Tesco paid for it!?

Again you completely misunderstand the analogy offered, or are you now saying you somehow offered X amount but were charged Y instead?

To run with your beans analogy , you find a tin of beans and offer 40p which seller accepts but then find out they only actually cost the shop 12p. That BTW is how a business works, and your 40p beans probably did only cost 12p or so.
What I mean is if you offered £16 and they refused so you make another offer of £19 which they accept but when the item turns up it has the sellers sticker price of £9.30.

I really would give up. Its irrelevant how much someone paid for something or what price is printed on the item. All that matters is the price you are prepared to pay. As long as you are willing to pay £19 for the item then nothing else matters.

If I offered £19 and they sold it to me for that why would I be upset if they had paid less for the item in the first place?

I'm sorry but I can't see a way of making you understand the logic of supply and demand. Ok, how about- I bought a guide book, printed in the 1970s and which showed a price of 17p I put it on eBay and someone offered me £5 for it which I accepted and posted item. By your analogy I should not have charged more than the 17p shown on the cover?

It might come as a huge shock to you but I buy my items at a lower price than I sell them at, if I didn't I would be a pretty bad seller.

  • Soolin I really would give up if I were you, you just can't get through to some people.

I've had two negative feedbacks in the last few years for just what the OP is complaining about. One was a magazine about 10 years old with a price of £7.99 on the cover I sold it for £19.99. The second was a pack of superhero toys that I bought about 3years ago in a sale meaning to give to the kids one Christmas, never did, over the last few years they have become highly collectable (obviously wish I'd bought more). The buyer of the latter actually contacted me saying the original shop sticker was on showing the original price and wanting a refund of the difference!!! (I hadn't removed the sticker as it would have damaged the packaging) In both cases the buyers got the items for cheaper than the going eBay rate.

It still doesn't beat the worst negative I ever got - a buyer didn't like the film they had bought so left a negative with a review of the film!!!
