I looked at my bank accounts. I am sure I had a system.....It seems to have collapsed.

I ended up going over drawn.....twice...cos I have got my dates mixed up. it was only over night but not like me!

And my tax rebate hasn't cleared. So I can't do my big sort out.

    Situation.

    I have

    1300 pounds saved.
I borrowed 5000 pounds to buy a new car and put up a summer house.
    I got a tax rebate for 3426
And 100 refund from my car accident insurance

I have spent 290 plus 390 on the car of the loan... on fixing current car. (680)

I think once the cheques have cleared I will put all the money in one place and work something out from there.

I feel slightly ridiculous having the loan now, but at the time my mechanic had a car to look at and the cheque wasn't meant to come for 60 days! so it seemed logical - needing a car for work.

Mind you it might be a blessing sort of.

    Plan A

    1. Sort the tax rebate into various accounts to cover things like car insurance and pet insurance as a jump start for the next year.

    2. Use the Bank loan money to buy a car(3500?) and put up the summer house (539 +230)

    3. Over pay the loan as fast as possible.

    Plan B

    1. Pay back the loan.
    2. Start from zero for everything and buy car or sort pots and save for car.

  • I really need to go to bed! however I have been thinking and thinking

I have moved some money around.

I have two current accounts that earn interest and I have made it so they switch 1000 pounds between them to earn interest on them.

I am going to pay in the rebate to cover the rabbit insurance and other upcoming bills for the next year, whilst setting up payments to cover them again in six months time (when I will need to pay to save up again - does that make sense)

I have worked out my outgoings, an eye watering 1701.81

That includes 500 pounds spending money(to cover everything like presents, pets, clothes,)..... and I will work towards paying off the loan.

In theory I should be able to pay an extra 300 pounds a month. It should take just over 12 months.

Part of me knows I should just pay it back now but I am currently a bit worried about a few things family wise and would like the cash available. Plus of course in all this I had completely forgotten about the dentist (how do I do that??) so I don't think I can afford to pay it back after all.

Ok. Can go to bed now.

    Night all.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

We suspected my youngest had a lactose issue and spoke to the dr who agreed, did the test but it was all clear but all her issues cleared completely when she had her sinus op. It was just a reaction to the amount of goo her sinuses were producing. The body is a strange old thing but listen to it. I was popping indigestion tablets daily and knew I needed to stop gluten as I had worked out it was the trigger, as soon as I stopped it I felt so much better and I have lost 2 stone since Christmas because of it. Pop to your gp for lactose testing, at least you will have an answer and can start to modify your diet...there are plenty of dairy free alternatives out there now.

Great news that your BIL is Home, it will take a while for them to adjust to their new life but they will get there. Does he need much support for daily living now? Have they had an adaptions done to the house?

I went back to the dentist yesterday to draw up my treatment plan and only need the one tooth sorting! I was so pleased. I have to be referred to a specialist as it is not straight forward but I coped so much better yesterday and even managed to have an X-ray plate in my mouth! Thank you for spurring me on x

Good news BIL is back home :)

Have you got a decoy heron for your pond? We lost loads of fish to herons in the past but none since we got the decoy.

I thought I had a system with money too - amazing how it all works out in theory, but in practice ....

My money system went out the window today when I accidentally brought my swingy swing (and several pretty things to put in the hallway that I need to finish decorating). My £30 food shopping budget also failed spectacularly.....but then I!!!8217;ve sold a couple of eBay bits and had 3 nice Etsy sales today so at least some was recouped,

  • Pooky - you went to the dentist! You deserve a swingy Swing seat - did you try it out yet?

SA - a lot of people on the pond group I am in say they don't work... but I think I might try one.

I had lunch with a friend today - no guilt. It was great. Also saw BIL for the first time in months. He is a different man. I cannot explain how different.

    New beginnings all round.
