    Not sure about it being the favourite day (I'm partial to mid-month), but I do get excited to start the month with a clean new budget and with all the credit cards cleared! (we use them to collect the points!) Made OH move his monthly money into the accessible account yesterday so that those balances could be zero for the start of the month!:o:D

    Nothing nicer then a fresh start RT - enjoy :D:D

    Evening:wave:

    I've had a day of visiting and pottering:). The weather has been a bit showery and unsettled so I focused on indoor chores and a few essential errands.
    I've also taken time to think about my August goals. Firstly, I want to have a nice holiday which combines activity, a bit of culture and a bit of lounging around recharging my batteries which have been quite depleted of late:rotfl: I also want it to reasonably thrifty which should be no problem as we are self catering, enjoy picnics and relaxed bbqs and the novelty of eating outside:).
    August is a 5 week month for me but I'm going to budget like it's four as I'm away for 10 days. Consequently my budgets will be ;

    Grocery £128
    Personal £46
    Fuel £100 (no work commute but allowing for hospital trips and getting to and from the airport)

    My holiday spends will come out of my holiday pot which I put money in each month :)

    My savings targets will be ;

    AVC £880 net

    Capital Reduction £1250 although I'd desperately like to be sub £80k by my first anniversary but it's going to be a bit of a stretch!

    Today's small steps to success were;

    Slept well :)

    Cheap, healthy eats (,overnight oats for breakfast, lo for lunch and a freezer dive of lo curry portions, hm flatbread and rice for dinner)

    Made a batch of scones for the freezer, granola bars for an airport breakfast and overnight oats for breakfasts and snacks.

    Food shopping done for £17.94 including holiday toiletries and picnic ingredients for sat/sun.

    £2.96 for holiday just in case meds - thank goodness for £stretcher - it would have cost a fortune anywhere else.

    Did the ironing which isn't something you'll read very often :rotfl:

    Coloured my hair with a £1 colour from Home Bargains :money: I've been using these for a while now and they're great.

    Had the house valued - better than I thought :)

    £37 of eBay sales packaged and ready to post tomorrow

    Laundry done and on the airer.

    Spin class done

    Collected my currency

    Repaired a pair of shorts

    Rearranged freezer to check there's enough hm ready meals for dd while I'm away.

    Off to bed as I'm on early visiting tomorrow so I need to be up with the larks :eek:

    Happy Thursday to you :)

    Evening :wave:

    After a last minute flurry,having spent most of the day at the hospital I'm almost ready for off:). I had a last minute wobble about leaving dad but my sister pointed out that he's in a good a place as he's going to be health wise and that I need a rest and that I can always get home if I need to so I'm focussing on getting into holiday mode :)

    Today's successes have been;

    Took breakfast, lunch,coffee and snacks to the hospital

    Fridge use up for dinner

    Kid's are on great form :). Will miss them but it's nice that they're successfully moving towards independence.

    Load of laundry done and on the airer

    Hoovered downstairs

    Lunch and dinner picnics made for tomorrow and breakfast for Sunday. Will make snacks and coffee in the morning

    Walked into the city where the hospital is to get a few holiday bits. £5 spent in £land on sunglasses, concealer, blusher , nail polish and nail polish remover. On the way back i bit upon CS heaven - a pound shop:). Spent £5 but got a nightshirt, an m&s T-shirt,a next long sleeve t-shirt, a lovely white linen top and a Jane Norman dress :money: Very happy! A few new to me bits for my hols without breaking the bank :)

    Trimmed my hair

    Had a home manicure and pedicure

    Waxed my legs

    Got everything ready to pop into either my suitcase, overnight bag or handbag.

    Past my bedtime :eek: Night Night :)
