Hi PP, so glad you enjoyed your holiday. Sorry to hear about your dad.
We had to make the same difficult decision with my dad, but were so glad we did once he was in and settled. Great, that the nursing home is local too. I am in awe of all your achievements and energy. I was feeling a bit sorry for myself today, but you have motivated me to get off the sofa and start ticking things off the list. Thank youStarting Mortgage 01.08.08 £171,209.24. Hiya DDA , lovely to 'see' you
.
My dad is better so all set for our transfer
We are waiting for GCSE results  Hope we are both breathing a sign of relief on Thursday. Shall we send each other good vibes?:)
Off to uni is so exciting:D. It's also a bit of a wrench:( it's what we've been preparing them for so give yourself a pat on the back for getting them to that point:T
Sending you good vibes and hoping your son gets the results he wants. I am hoping my son has passed his english and maths but if not he can redo them when he goes to college. He only did those and the sciences as he wasn't in proper school. I am just proud he even attempted to do them.
I will miss my eldest when he goes to uni but not the back and forth to his dads or cricket lol.
I have joined the GC for Sept as we spend stupid money on food. Do you know how to change the colour of text in a post or signature?
Glad your dad is better now and hope he settles in ok.0 -
Sounds like you have had a much better day. In fact yesterday seems like quite a success!
It was so much better.

It's a huge step isn't it? Still feel a bit emotional about it so it will be good to get him settled.
Good luck with your list,I love a good list:pdingdongavon wrote: »Sending you good vibes and hoping your son gets the results he wants. Evening
Today's been a good day. I was at the hospital for most of the day as dad wasn't so good. Once I did get home I got quite a bit done as I got stuck in because I knew I had less time.
Today's small steps to success included;
Put chicken korma in the sc and naan bread dough in the bm before I left for the hospital so we had a nice, easy dinner ready. Breakfast was overnight oats and lunch was lo.
Spin class done
Drank enough water
Laundry done and on the airer - wish this rain would b***er off :mad:
Food shop done for £29.24 and included tons of veg and pulses as I'm going to batch cook some easy meals for the freezer for when I return to work
Got a red chilli plant in Aldi for my sister's Ruby anniversary pressie which will go in a nice pot I got from the cs. Wrapped in cellophane with some red ribbon lo from Christmas I think it'll look the businesse for very little cost :money:
Froze three portions of lo curry and rice for lunches to take to work
Took breakfast, lunch, coffee and snacks to the hospital so no unnecessary spends. Found a free parking spot a short walk away.
Swallowed a massive frog - phone call
Booked a table for Happy Hour pizza for me and a friend next week which will be a real treat
Rang mum
Got the latest instalment of DD's adventure:)
Persuaded DS it's not the end of the world if he doesn't get the grades he wants
I'm off for an early night - again:rotfl:
Happy Hump Day:)

I'm very glad to hear it2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Today has been a very mixed bag! The most important thing was DS 's results were just what he deserved. He's chuffed to bits and so is his Mum
. As I was fretting in the car waiting for DS to collect his results the care home rang and said they couldn't transfer dad until next week, meanwhile the poor old thing was sat with my sister, bags packed waiting for his hospital transport:mad: He coped very well with all the changes but it still made me cross and didn't fill me with confidence if I'm honest.
In money news it wasn't quite a nsd as I bunged my boy a few quid to treat himself and bought him a new lunch box as the lid on his work one had broken.
I'd arranged to do the afternoon at the hospital as I wanted to be with DS in the morning so once he'd got his results and had gone off to celebrate with his mates I got a few things done.
Today's steps to success included;
Took lunch, coffee and snacks to the hospital so no unnecessary spends. I also found a free parking spot a short walk away:)
Cheap healthy eats (overnight oats for breakfast, ds had hm pancakes, lo for lunch and dinner was a new recipe, Deliciously Ella's blackbean shepherd's pie with sweet potato mash. It was yummy, definitely keeper)
Started my batch cooking bonanza. 3 family portions of turkey mince Bolognese, 5 of turkey mince chilli and 7 individual black bean shepherd's pies.
Veggie base for moussaka is in the sc overnight so I can assemble them in foil trays ready for freezing tomorrow.
Defrosted lo egg whites to make a meringue for tomorrow night (having a celebration for DS as he was out this his girlfriend at a party tonight).
Spin class done
Spent the afternoon with Dad
Drank enough water
I'm off to bed as I've got a hospital free day tomorrow and I want to try and get my batch cooking finished and the garden tidied up a bit. The forecast is also ok so I might change the beds.

Thats a lovely day except for your dad - I can understand your qualms about the care home - what we found over the years, with various elderly relatives going in, is that they're desperate to avoid a room being empty. And as well as the obvious
that means the family packing and taking away all the belongings
and then they have to scrub it like billio.
Enjoy your day, though, thats the main thing2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thank you Karma, you're always so kind:A. Hope you're having a lovely time in London:)Original mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.
