    Morning:wave:

I wish I could find a way to inform my body clock that I'm on holiday, I was awake at 5.30:eek: I have had a relaxed morning though and have read my book, gathered my thoughts and done a bit of internet research.
The research was necessary as the washing machine has died:( It really owes me nothing as it came with the house and has done us for 5 years so I can't complain. It's also not terribly energy efficient either so it has given me the chance to get something better suited to our needs. The bulk of our laundry is sports kit so I've gone for one that has a 15 min cycle. It wasn't the absolute cheapest but for an extra £20 i got an extra 2 kg capacity, a 1400 rather than 1200 spin and a A+++ rating rather than a A+ so I was very happy to pay the extra:). There was an additional £50 to have it installed and the old one taken away but it was worth it not to have the hassle:p. In total it was £224 but I went through TCB and got 2.5% plus there current £2.50 bonus which at least reduces it a bit.

In other money news I finally got my £90 cash back from TCB for a purchase in December after a grumble mail. This has proved a bargainous, if slow purchase as it meant with cashback my landlord's insurance cost £60 when my renewal quote from my previous provide was over £200:money: I requested payment and it can go towards the washing machine:)

    Today's plans are to;

    Make flapjack and overnight oats

Chargrill chicken to use in sandwiches

    Make lunches for tomorrow

    Coffee with my sister

Go to M&S to stock up on half price perfume using my vouchers I got for taking out their credit card (which I only used to qualify for my vouchers :o )

Do the night shift with Dad

    Happy Sunday to you :)

    Evening

I've just realised that it's my first diary anniversary today :j. Goodness a lot has changed in a year. Today was the day after Id completed on my new, solo mortgage and I'd had to commit practically every penny I'd saved in the previous two years to get the mortgage amount down to one that was acceptable to my lender given my single salary. I was terrified:eek: but a bit excited and felt quite liberated to finally be in control of my future:D

I've just read my first post and it really made me smile that for all those concerns and fears I've made it through my first year :p
As I didn't make my first OP until August I'm going to do a proper annual review then but for now I'm content in the knowledge that my SOA is nailed down tighter, my pension pot is much healthier and I've exceeded my wildest hopes in terms of MOP.

Life feels significantly more secure than it did then:):)

Happy Sunday evening to you :)

Thanks Busy :). This forum is such a brilliant motivator isn't it? So glad I plucked up the courage to start a diary, it's helped me enormously as has the understanding and support of the other MFWers. Feel really positive about the year ahead and I'm determined to achieve my goals.
Looks like your doing great too - you have an actual retirement timeline - so exciting :D

I'm starting to feel less jiggered and more motivated so the end of term fug must be clearing:p. I've had a lot of stuff to do with Dad today and tomorrow is the same but I've got some bits and bats done inbetween.
Today's small steps to success have included:

    Drank enough water
Did a spin class (so nice to go during the day:D)
    Hoovered
Made overnight oats, sc veggie tagine and pastry
    Lunches for tomorrow done
Lo for lunch and sausage and mash for dinner which is dd's absolute fave
Wiped down woodwork in the bathroom
    Put clean laundry away
    Small grocery spend on milk
Got holiday insurance by shopping around £6.47 with 67p cashback:money:

Tonight I'm going to really try and get to bed by 10.30 so at least if I wake at 5.30 (again ) I won't be knackered by 2pm

Happy Monday to you (wonder how long it will be until I don't know what day it's is? I'm terrible for that when I'm off work :rotfl:).

    Evening

Today has simply flown by:eek: it's been a bit dad heavy but a few things are falling into place so next week will be easier. In amongst visits, appointments and phone calls to sort out some extra care and an OT assessment of his house I've managed some mfw successes.

    These included;

    Drank enough water

Did body conditioning, Pilates and spin - seriously, if I didn't have the I inconvenience of going to work I'd be ripped:rotfl:

Made lemon curd using ys lemons. Also used fake butter as I didn't have enough real stuff. Tasted no different so I won't be going to the expense of real butter again.

Lo for lunch and pulled pork, hm flatbread and salad for dinner using lo pork from the freezer. There was also enough to make wraps for the kid's lunches tomorrow.

Batch cooked flat bread so there's a load in the freezer
Laundry done and line dried and put away

Kitchen unit doors cleaned and floor swept

Recycling sorted and ready for collection

EBay parcels posted and all money will go towards my new WM

Nsd apart from a 10p bag of ys fresh noodles I found when picking up bread and milk for my parents.

Showered at the leisure centre which saved three home showers :p

I'm off to bed soon as I'm feeling really sleepy. Hope I don't wake at ridiculous o'clock:eek:

Happy Tuesday to you (thanks for the heads up RT :p)

    Morning

Yesterday went a bit off piste with a very poorly Dad:( He's such a stoic old lad despite everything so it's so sad seeing him struggling. Thank goodness for the NHS and all those kind and dedicated folk who work in it:A.
Consequently nothing got done including eating, drinking and sleeping - I feel like a zombie! Today will be about getting things in place for him longer term and a bit of self care starting with a large glass of water and breakfast:p
    My washing machine is due today so hopefully laundry will soon be on my list of successes. Other things I'd like to achieve are;

    Make pasties with lo
    Lunches for tomorrow
Make curry for dinner (using batch cooked sauce from the freezer)
    Pay cheques into bank
    Sort out new sim
    Post last eBay item

Feeling less zombie like after a large coffee so might have another and an hour with my book:D

    Happy Thursday to you
