My girlfriend hasn't got a credit score and needs a credit card. What's a good pick?

Hey,
My girlfriend is 24 and has never lent credit.
Really keen to get her a credit card and start to build her score, but she's only being given a 50% chance of getting one. She's scared to apply incase she's rejected and it affects her chances even more!
What is she able to do to increase her chances of being approved?
Thanks
Matt

Presumably she's not licensed to do so. However, she should be able to borrow.
Try a sub prime lender.0 -
I assume she has a bank account? That will appear on the credit report, even without an overdraft.0

As mentioned a sub prime for a start, 1 of these cards will be in the 50%
The credit score is only seen by your gf, no one else can see it, what matters is the history to lenders. She has a credit history as I guess she has a bank account, a phone contract.
It's not lent credit but borrowed.0 -
To increase her chances will take time.
Has she got a bank account?
Is her address correct on her bank account and CR?
Is she on the ER?
Does she have a mobile phone contract?
Is she named on any utility bills?
check all 3 CRAs to make sure her information is accurate.
If there is nothing untoward on her credit file then she will only know if she is going to get rejected by applying - one application will not do any harm.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards.
