PCSPECIALIST is a complete scam - stay away

I recently bought a laptop through HITACHI Finance from PCSPECIALIST.
After waiting more than a month to receive a laptop that was communicated to me it would be built and delivered in maximum 20 days, I already had an issue.
This only became worse after realising the laptop was delivered broken. Screen randomly going blank, overheating, bent keyboard. So I sent it in under warranty.
They kept it for weeks, sent it back to me with a nice 'fault report' document explaining they had, well, fixed everything. Including changing the motherboard.
It came back EXACTLY as it went it. The exact same issue, the laptop was absolutely untouched.
The best part of it all is I have video evidence for everything. Both when the issue slowly started appearing, and just now after their so called 'fix'.
The problem is: this laptop was bought with finance, so I'm not sure if there's a way to stop paying them for something which obviously doesn't work, and won't likely will for the foreseeable future, so I can use that money to buy a different laptop?
This is keeping me out of work, forcibly, and it's an issue.

You should have rejected the laptop rather than sending it back under the warranty; returning under warranty isn't really approproate anyway since it sounds like it may have been damaged in transit. This is likely why they didn't do anything - warranties don't cover damage.
Did you buy the laptop for personal or business use? This makes a big difference to what your rights are.0 -
I have to take exception to your use of the word scam. This is usually taken to mean a dishonest scheme, a fraud or a swindle, neither of which is true in your case. If you pop over to the Consumer Rights board you will find plenty of good advice there. Mainly if the retailer has had one shot at repairing and failed, you have the right to reject for a full refund. Also, I have purchased two full systems from PCSpecialist plus specified, bought and installed two more systems for neighbours. I had one small issue (damaged in transit) with one of my systems which was very quickly dealt with.0

My friend had a laptop from PC Specialist that had a nVidia Geforce 8800GT graphics card which nVidia admitted had a manufacturing defect and every single one made would fail. 4 years after he bought it it did indeed fail and they replaced the motherboard and graphics card for free with no quibbles even though it was well out of warranty.
So whilst things go wrong they are far from a scam company.
If it is forcibly keeping you out of work then get another laptop in the meantime. Given you're posting on this forum I can assume that you actually have another computer so therefore aren't being forcibly kept out of work as you claim to be.
Reject the laptop, if PC Specialist aren't playing ball then exercise your rights under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act with Hitachi. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Are Hitachi a credit card?0

This seems to believe it applies to credit cards only: -
This isn't the credit provider being nice. It's a legal protection put in place so that you're never in the position of paying off debt for something you didn't receive or wasn't as it should've been. Whether it's a flight, kitchen, computer or anything else, pay on a credit card, store card or with store instalment credit and the credit provider's responsible too.0 -

This bit that you posted should tell you it covers other forms of credit:Whether it's a flight, kitchen, computer or anything else, pay on a credit card, store card or with store instalment credit and the credit provider's responsible too.
Further down that article you can read:Section 75 applies to most, but not all, credit card agreements. Credit cards are the main area covered, but the law also applies to store cards, store instalment credit and some car finance agreements (though not hire purchase).0
