Just realised I'm screwed if his mum reads this thread :rotfl:. Bit obvious who I am with the detailed family description, my name and pic in my avatar! What the hell she deserves it maybe it'd make her realise......god who am I trying to kid!Trying to sort my life out, and I'm going to get there!0

I once applied for a job at V1, which was a vegetarian fast food restaurant. I didn't get the job though, and it's now closed (cry).
I don't think I'd apply to mcdonalds though, but only because we don't have one near us. It would cost over an hour's wages to get there and back! I would apply to similar places that we do have nearby though.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

As a vegetarian, I would have a moral problem with working at McDonalds.
However, I have no shame to say I would work anywhere doing anything to keep a roof over my family and food on their table. So yes I would work there.
I have worked in some right !!!! holes in the past, factories etc0 -

That's totally different - and fully understandable. As a committed non-vegetarian, I admire and respect your principles, even if I don't share them.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Later his mum came and told my boyfriend it was a stupid thing to do and that his brother needs a real job, he can do better than working there blah, blah, blah.
As for working in McD's, it's not something I would do now, but it's certainly something I would have considered at that age and in that situation (as it happens I just worked somewhere else). As others have said, good employees shine through in such environments. Many McD staff are students working PT to earn some money (both studying and working? - now that would be an eye opener for him!) and as a FT, long-term member of staff he could have progressed with the right attitude and ambition. Neither of which he seems to have.0 -
dudleyboy he quit his apprenticeships because of the poor pay, he didn't see the bigger picture
but surely the low pay is still more than he'd get on the dole!? Pure lazyness is at the heart of it all.

I actually think it is shameful, that the unemployed dont want to work in mc donalds, i have alot more respect for those that have jobs there, earn their money honestly and fairly, that those who justborrow off their parents or are on the dole. A job is a job and thats all there is to it0

I work part time at Mc Donalds, it's not that bad a job-it's always there if I need extra pennies for the ever increasing cost of living...0
