Thanks for that! The automatic relisting for no charge sounds the same as I'm used to, so that's good. *Very* interesting to hear of specialist selling groups on fb - I had no idea of them. I have goods in a few specialist niches where that would be worthwhile - for the first time in my life, I'm considering getting rid of at least some of my cat ornaments
it's a bit suffocating.
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Kc I took some of my cat ornaments recently to the local-ish cat rescue. I figured they would have a ready made cat audience at their next open day so would get better prices than another type of charity shop. That was when I came across a box of them in the attic. Some I kept and are now out on show again, some went.

Is there a kitchen undersink L-space? I've just cleaned the cupboard and found doublers of various bottles. How did that happen? Just a few months ago I cleaned and discarded any doublers. Yet more doublers have appeared.
I am the only person who goes into that cupboard, so !!!!!!????
If anyone is missing any bleach spray, Fairy power spray etc the clutter goblin has brought them to my house.0 -

If anyone is missing any bleach spray, Fairy power spray etc the clutter goblin has brought them to my house.C-space applies to all cupboards. Packets of marigolds manifest in mine. I never ever buy them, Aunt gives me a few packets (one to three) every few years, I do use them, but they never seem to run out as they should, I think they're breeding under the sink.
Since yesterday, we have misplaced the soft bristle brush of the dustpan and brush set. I was chasing fluff out from under the sideboard. It'll turn up. I have also found a plastic doo-dad which we think was a holder for the remote control of the CRT telly they no longer own. Which they didn't use on the telly when they had that telly, and which there is nowhere to mount on the flatscreen one. It has been cleared for take-off by mother and is in the bin.
I'm sneezing constantly today and feeling a bit bleuh, so think I am going down with the first cold of winter. Never mind, not back at work until 2nd, and what doesn't get done here, decluttering wise, will have to wait for another day.
The recycling bin has been emptied, hooray, so can start adding a few more bits and bobs to that, including some knackered rubbish books - going to pull the cover off one beforehand, as it had been covered with sticky-back plastic at some point.:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hopefully it's just dust getting in your tubes but take care of yourself GQIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Loving the GQ adventures, thanks!
Well, every cloud has a silver lining. My dad has been in hospital since end of Nov (big, giant cloud) and I have been staying with mum at parental home so we could visit every day, and to look after mum. The silver lining? I have managed to disband 9 hot spots!
Every time I visit I am driven to distraction by the piles of crud on various surfaces (not massive piles, but too big, iykwim) .
I have sorted the million letters and odd instruction manuals that littered the mantlepiece and one kitchen worktop, and the table beside mum's chair, and the bookcase in the snug.
I have recycled mail order catalogues, random bits of cardboard, more old appointment letters.
I have binned several half-eaten and very OOD bags of sweeties, pork scratchings, choccie bickies and cheese crackers that were found scattered in some or all of the 9 hot spots.
I binned a random assortment of plastic kipple, including 4 chip forks and a crochet hook that were nesting beside a large bowl of pot pourri (that would go if I had my way, but it is staying for now!).
I added 8 paperbacks to a CS bag, having collected them from 3 different locations in the house, none of which was a bookcase!
I relocated 2 large storage boxes out of the lounge and into far more appropriate locations.
I tidied the large table by dad's chair that he used as a dumping ground and where he spent many frustrated hours looking for things that were 'somewhere on here'!
I have to say that the whole lot took less than 3 hours to do and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
The place looks soooooo much better.
There is just one niggly area, a large footstoll, that has a 30cm high stack of old mail order catalogues on it. It is the preserve of my mum and she has said she will sort through the items and most will go. Now i could have done that inside 5 mins but obvs, as they are her things i have to let her do it (I am fairly certain she won't though).
My brother visited the parental home last week, walked into the living room, cast his eyes around, and his first words were 'wow, you've done well'!
While I was there I made sure that as soon as mail was opened it was dealt with, all recycling went straight into the appropriate bag as soon as possible, and nothing, not even a crumb, was left on the kitchen worktop unless it belonged there.
I am making my way home today and tomorrow. Not sure what I'll find because DH has been fending for himself for 5 weeks. I just hope he hasn't got used to being home alone, or I may get the push!I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
MMF: did you manage to cancel the catalogues, magazines etc to stop any more coming in?
The Kondoing inertia continues as I am still undecided about my future. I am, however, determined to at least get the place clean and organized ( if still too full.) OH has decided to take time off between his old job and starting his new job. He's knackered from the stress of his old job ( the reason he left.) A lot of the organising is a two-man job as it requires lifting and carrying. Also, a lot of OH's stuff is all over the place. He needs to sort his own Cr*p.
I can't wait for Spring. All these dark evenings are sapping my energy.0 -
MMF007 that sounds great - I'm sure it'll help your mum to have things a bit clearer.
Had a great Christmas, I've just unpacked my bag of loot - we do family wish lists so almost everything I got was wanted - bits of sewing kit, a necklace, a new trowel, some books, and some body lotion, hand cream etc which is all very welcome. There were a few random things which I'll be passing to a friend for their monthly fundraising raffle. And some chocolate, which I've eaten!
I've already released a calendar I was given; sounds ungrateful but I like a particular style of calendar and I don't need two, so I passed one I was given in November to the CS and hope it gladdened someone's heart.
Hope you feel OK GQ, I love your reports from the homestead.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
