Merry Christmas everyone!A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Have spent a happy few minutes sorting out the giftwrap for re-use and now the good bits are all ironed and trimmed and neatly bagged and ready to go back to mine. There's a particular paper which I recognise, it came back around a gift from Aunt to my parents and orignally came from our household. Aunt is comically tight, makes a knowing joke of it, so I have carefully salvaged that piece and will return it to her next year wrapped around something else, it's an in-family joke which she'll appreciate. All families have their peculiarities, do they not? :rotfl:
A lot of books have been gifted between us and, thanks to the sorting out of the living room bookcase, the new books, pending being read, were able to go onto a shelf! I know that sounds so ordinary, but it isn't normal in this household, I can assure you. The 'rents are most pleased.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas day and eating lovely grub, I'm sitting down to roast beef and all the trimmings at 13.00.:jEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

A few months ago, my bestie gave me a carrier bagful of tangled wool. It was ends from her fair isle knitting projects, all pure wool and lovely colours, but the longest bits were about 18 inches long. I happily unravalled the tangle and chopped them up for my rug-making. Pal is delighted because she was hanging on to them to avoid waste, and now she can see where they ended up and has kondo'd them with a good conscience.
I have done most of the dishes before breaking off (the sink is too low for me and gives me back-ache) and Dad is finishing off, then we're going walkies. All low-tech pleasures.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Me too! All the paper is in one place and will be going to the recycling bin tomorrow. I can’t be doing with hanging on to stuff for possible reuse if we don’t forget. I’d rather use as little as possible and recycle what I do use."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
