I have spent some time in the attic again, this afternoon. We have three more 55-litre containers (that's what the measurements on the side come to, but I have a feeling they are 100-litre). All the trousers are in one, all sweaters, cardis, hoodies in another, both filled to the brim. I found a few more items of clothing dds need to try on; it feels like xmass every time :).

We're trying to empty the freezer, but it's hard. Kondoed today: 1 small freezer bag of cooked bulghur into the pasta sauce, half of which will be frozen for a later meal. I had bought the bulghur to try it, but we don't like it, so I froze it in small amounts to disguise in later meals; I fried it with the mince and no-one noticed :D

Only if it's not going to be replaced :p

So, our ongoing chaos is not going to be resolved any time soon - whilst the bedrooms are mostly sorted, our builder has now said that the office can't be done until february. Therefore some decisions have been made - including purchasing our new filing cabinet now. it will be half the drawers of the old one (two instead of four) so kondoing paperwork is going to happen this weekend. Also I am going to move the stored CDs (the racks were ruined (always said we were going to rack and ruin :rotfl: ) and we are going to reduce them by a third) into a chest of drawers in the conservatory - which involves kondoing them also. if we are not going to be sorted for 3 months (three months.... :( ) then at least we can make it a little more bearable. That will be this Sunday's job...
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Good luck VJsMum!

I need to get kondoing at work, my desk is overflowing, and my new boss will start on Monday. I would like to make a 'streamlined' impression, rather than 'almost drowning' :D

I am a self confessed nail Polishaholic, I love the colours and finishes and they make me happy. A while back I bought one of the gel Polish systems and quite a few colours, but sadly it dries my nails out so cannot use it, or have the treat of a salon gel polish. I mentioned it to my lovely young hairdresser and a relative of hers would love them:D after a culpa am going to pack it all up and take to my appointment this afternoon, this will free up space to better arrange my toiletries.

    Note cuppa not culpa!

Got talking to a friend today and when I go to my yoga class this evening I'll be taking her some of my glut of raspberries and blackberries from the freezer. Advertised some large pieces of machinery through a local engineering guy and cleared the dining room of all the stuff we took off the boat for the winter. Small bedroom bed is now about chest height with all the cushions! Cat's sitting on top like the Princess & the Pea ;)

  • I just got rid of a clickfree hard drive, at last, was so annoying and remembered what son said re hard drives, bashed it very hard with a lump hammer until I saw the actual drive, then smashed that. Clickfree copies the whole computer. I always smash hard drives but sometimes they are very difficult to access

Not much again today, am expecting the last of the ordered stuff, so the bathrooms will be finished later and I think also the valance, which I am expecting to have to cut on two corners. Finishing the bathrooms will make me do another bathroom/soaps etc pass but probably at the weekend. In the meantime I have put papers together for later, utility bills and recipes etc. Got to keep on top of it

Look out world, I am having a great day!
Spent a hour and a half going through all clothes that were too small and some that I knew fitted but had not been wearing.

    Results -

20 garments into CS bag because they are too big. Yipee! Freed up a half under-bed drawer and a whole drawer in COD. *
6 garments into ragbag (defo past best!).
18 garments brought back into play. To use GQ's phrase, I have 'shopped from my wardrobe ' and come up good.
And the best thing is that my all time favourite dress, the most expensive garment I have ever bought, fits me again!
*Will have a reshuffle of drawers to put like with like again. It's all tidy but I want to slightly re-arrange what goes where.

So kondo-ing 3 stone is helping shift the surplus clothes as well. I do have more weight to lose, but today has been a real boost towards the final target.

Now I must remain strong while making a batch of marmalade and some biscuits for a friend!

(Ooh, that'll be more jars gone from the stash too:))

Great move Maddie! It feels good to give things to a loving home, doesn't it?
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

MMF007 - :T:T:T Well done on the weight loss and being able to get into your favourite dress again - win win all round!
When I rummaged in the freezer yesterday for my Yoga teacher I found I have many more pots of fruit from the garden than I realised so a jam making stint for me too - and releasing some jars!
