That's what my mum used to say to me SH - "Don't forget to enjoy the view" 😊

Dates
It's been a weekend of dates:
On Friday morning I met up with a couple of friends for a Mates' Date. And, finally, after five Februarys living here, I got to see the snowdrops at the castle. They were beautiful and we had such nice weather - still and bright and fresh. We walked for a couple of hours then sat outside at the cafe for tea and cake. It was my treat as one friend had driven me and the other didn't have membership so had to pay to get in. Costs will be met from personal spends.
Lunch was leftover carrot and lentil soup with a buttered roll. After lunch, I baked a Lemon Curd & Blackcurrant Cake with blackcurrants from the veg patch I froze last year. Mr F had a Mates' Date with a friend on Saturday. Friend had offered to cook lunch so I made the cake for Mr F to take along for their pudding.
Then late afternoon, I had a date with the hairdresser. This was the appointment I had to cancel three weeks ago when I hurt my back so very needed. Mr F drove me and, after, we had our Valentine's date - supper at our local brewery. It was busy with a good atmosphere and a roaring fire - and felt pre-pandemic! Mr F and I couldn't remember when we'd last had such a 'normal' night out. The food was tasty and good value. We were so full after our main that we turned down a pudding - not sure that's ever happened to me before 😆 Costs will be met from this months' fun money.
It was a busy day for me so I had an easier day on Saturday. The Blind Company man came out in the morning to fit our two surprise blinds. He did a great job, however, after he'd gone I noticed that the pulls are white plastic and we have chrome throughout the rest of the house. I called the office but it was too late for him to come back so they'll arrange another date to get them changed. I vacuumed downstairs but spent the rest of the day in front of the log burner watching romcoms 😁 I had a prawn salad for lunch and, as Mr F got home quite late, we had a quick supper of baked potatoes with beans and cheese.
Both Mr F and I are very tired today. We've lit the log burner and are intending to have a nap. Our Valentine's pasta meal is being delivered late morning and Fence Man is coming at 4pm to give us a quote for the fence that got damaged during Storm Arwen. Plenty of time for some nanna naps 😴
Happy Sunday all

That all sounds lovely (nap included). We also had an evening in front of the log-burner and it was toasty warm. I have a valentine card - it says "I'm yours. No refunds. Happy Valentines Day." How romantic... no treat meals here. Soup for lunch then left over stew for supper. If he's lucky I might do a cobbler topSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Meh 🤒
That tiredness Mr F and I were feeling turned out to be a bug. Our first night out this year and we come down with something 😢 I've been ill since Saturday evening and Mr F is just starting to show symptoms. I'm testing negative for Covid though.
So, not much has been done. We've been eating convenience meals/from the freezer and not spending much. Although Mr F did put a wine order in today as he had a 15% discount through work and the wine rack is looking very empty. I'm going to meet the costs from the fun money as we have some of that budget left and it doesn't look as though we're going to be having much fun for what's left of the month. In fact, I still haven't had any alcohol this year 👼 I did manage to cook us a decent lunch today - Cabbage Soup - and there's enough leftover for lunch over the weekend too.
Fence guy came out yesterday and is going to give us quotes for various fence replacements - the Storm Arwen casualty being the priority. Unless more get brought down of course 😲 We came through Dudley unscathed yesterday but Eunice is another matter 🌧🌬❄ We've battened down the hatches as far as we can.
I've had a quick tidy round but the house is desperate for a good dust. That will just have to wait a bit longer. More social events have been cancelled. I feel as though I've missed all of 2022 so far 😢 It could be worse though. After all, I've recovered fully from the back injury and I only have a bit of a cold which should pass quickly.
Can't wait to start living again 😁
Stay safe everyone until the storm passes.

Look after yourself. Listen to your body. It's such a difficult balance isn't it with social stuff, and then all the things life seems to throw at us. Like you I don't always duck that well...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
