Thanks Cheery - I do feel a bit better today.SandyShores said:Echo what Cheery_Daff says. Glad you feel a bit better. You have been so busy, so hopefully you are recharged now.
Its great that your overpayment allowance shows. I would have to work ours at, although we will be nowhere near to that anytime soon.
Thank you SS. I think it's the culmination of too little sleep and too much food, sugar and alcohol on top of a very busy December. Things will calm down now of course and I can start making healthier choices.
I never thought we'd ever get to the point of overpaying 10% in any year but here we are. Very exciting.themadvix said:Hope you’re feeling better today Fortune.
Thanks for the reminder to check our OP allowance!
I couldn't wait to see the allowance year tick over MV - I even checked on 31 December in case it happened early 😆

Thank you RT - I'm feeling much better now and I'm sure it's just a blip. I just can't get away with over-indulging any more 😆

The Last Lazy Day...
... because we're back to work tomorrow 😲 I am at least feeling well again so I'm ready for it. I spent most of today making evil plans and stuff aka daydreaming 😂 It's been so nice loafing around and chilling but it can't go on forever. Apart from anything I fear I'm turning into a sofa slug 😲
Despite there being some leftover Christmas food in the house, we're back to normal eating. So the last of the Cabbage Soup for lunch today and some of the Swiss Chard, Bacon & Gruyere Tart, that didn't make it out of the freezer while our guests were here, for supper.
My most exciting news is that I made the first mortgage op of 2022 today with whatever cash I could free up from the current account. I'm just waiting for the Pr£mium Bond$ to be drawn so that I can de-invest the rest of this year's 10% allowance and op that too 😁
Just about to do the on-line grocery shop. I'm hoping it's going to be a small one this time and I can free up a little cash for savings. Otherwise, there's nothing going into that pot this month.
Happy Monday all

Well done Fortune, and glad you're feeling better!
Do you know that when you request a Premium bonds withdrawal there's an option to delay til after the next draw? I'm sure you're organised enough to remember anyway, but just in case it's useful for next time 😊4 -

My pension lump sum funded 10% last year SH so we then ring-fenced our usual monthly savings for the rest of the year which means we can pay another 10% now. I'm finding it pretty incredible that we've got to this stage - it only seems like yesterday we were planning our move here and debating taking on another big mortgage. The time has gone so quickly and we've thrown a lot at it. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that nothing happens with Mr F's job this year to throw us off course.Cheery_Daff said:Well done Fortune, and glad you're feeling better!

I did not know that Cheery - I've never withdrawn any before. Thanks for the tip.

Well let's hope that we both win enough this month to cover without withdrawing old funds. Although I believe they cash in the oldest first. Well that will get rid of my £2 from 1957. Don't tell anyone but I actually only own £1.50 of that. My sister owns the other 50p worth. It was a lot of money back then. I do know which is which, but as they haven't won yet I doubt very much they will ever.

Happy new year to you Fortune, sounds like you had an excellent and much needed mix of celebrating and relaxing over the last week. Goals for the next year sound very reasonable and I'm eagerly anticipating the PB draw to see if we've won anything on the first go 😆Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20176
