Lol!!! Me and BF are also discussing Mr F's future. BF believes Mr F fixing the toilet more than makes up for the misplaced keys. I think you should make him sew up and fix the hole in the fleece himself 😂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!2 -
No, she wants him to not lose the keys again!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!3 -
Turns out the toilet might not be fixed - could be the flush valve that's the problem, not the inlet valve.
How does he fare now? 😂

The mistake you made was not pointing him at the stapler in the first place.

Mr Cheery is not here to take sides but I'm definitely on yours Fortune - brownie points have been sorely depleted!3 -
My favourite is the number of times I land up ringing my friends mobile (when I'm with him) because he has no idea where he has put it & he lives on the darned thing. A few years ago we found it in the fridge where he had put it instead of the butter which was still out.

Mr F's favourite refrain when he's searching for something is "I don't understand it" - you put a key in a pocket with a hole in it and the key fell out and got lost somewhere. What's not to understand about that 😆

I might have found my phone in the fridge a couple of times BM 🤭

An update on my update
Turns out I was a bit premature with my figures - I checked today and I'd not factored in my December numbers in the totals. So...- we have paid 34% off the mortgage - 1% more than I thought
- and are now 60% mortgage neutral - again, 1% more than I thought
- plus we are at 73% against our savings target instead of 72%
- I completed Mr F's tax return today and we owe them about £1,100 😲 He was given a tax rebate earlier this year of about £600 which I thought a bit suspicious so I ring-fenced that in the savings pot for paying back when the time came. We usually end up owing about £600 at the end of the year anyway because HMRC can't get their heads around the fact that Mr F gets a pension and works. So, all in all, this isn't entirely unexpected. However, rather than raid the op/savings pots, I'll use the planned savings amounts from January and February to pay it off. Unfortunately, I'm a day late for the deadline to have it deducted from his salary over the year - why is it the 30th and not the 31st 🙄
- the toilet fault is the flush valve and not the inlet valve so Mr F has had to go and pick up another part today and I can hear random hammering noises from above as I type 😆
I am up and dressed today 🤭 and continuing the tidying and decluttering. We've had porridge with apple and chopped, stuffed dates for breakfast. Lunch is on the go - Welsh Rarebit made from some of the Christmas cheese and I'm going to spread the toast with Quince Jam before putting the rarebit on top to use up some leftovers.
We have no plans for tonight except to open a bottle of wine/watch a film maybe. It's the last opportunity to enjoy the Christmas lights as I always turn them off on New Year's Day unless we have guests. I hope you all have a good end to the year and a good start to the new one.
May 2022 bring you health, wealth and happiness.
