Happy New YearOn the stroke of midnight tonight, you can resolve to be better, if you like…to be fitter,to be healthier,to work harder. On the stroke of midnight tonight, you can resolve to become a whole new you,if you so choose.Or, you can take a moment to acknowledge what you already are.All that you already are.Because it’s a lot. You’re a lot.And you deserve to be seen.On the stroke of midnight tonight perhaps you could congratulate yourself, for coping. For breaking, again, and for rebuilding, again. For catching the stones life has thrown at you,and for using them to build your castle that little bit higher. You have endured my friend. And I don’t see the need to resolve to become a whole new you, when you are already so very much indeed.Happy new year. You made it.Donna Ashworthhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6623005/happy-days-in-our-golden-years/p1?new=1

Hello 2022
We went to bed about 10pm 😂 Mr F had to get up to FDawg at 12.30am as FDawg got scared by some fireworks but I slept right through 😆 What a rock and roll life we do lead 😂
Today has been a pretty relaxed day. We took FDawg for a long walk then I spent the rest of the morning sorting out our finances and playing with the mortgage overpayment calculator 😉 Also brought my 2022 diary up to date with WI, Book Club and other regular meetings which may or may not happen. Watched 'Judy' - very sad 😢 and 'S£wing B££' - very jolly 😁
Lunch was Cabbage Soup using the savoy cabbage and one of the carrots donated by one of our Christmas guests. Supper is likely to be Beetroot, Halloumi & Cashew Curry to use up the donated beetroot.
And that will be New Year's Day done 😆
Tomorrow I will start taking the Christmas decorations down and planning for the week.
At 5pm I will check the case numbers just as I have every day since the start of the pandemic. The day I don't check them is the day when we'll have got through it or learned to live with it. I hope that day comes this year.

Wash Out
Well yesterday was a bit of a wash out. I got up but felt rubbish and had to go back to bed. Fortunately we had soup and curry leftover from the day before so Mr F was able to sort out meals. He and FDawg went out to explore a local walking area and I slept and watched TV 😥
I managed to check the mortgage account and our new overpayment allowance is showing. I just need to wait for the regular payment to go through as they get a bit confused if I overpay too close to that date. I'll also need to de-invest some pr£mium bond$ to cover the full 10%.
I'm feeling a bit better today. I'm sure all the sugar in my diet over the last month hasn't helped so I'm back to healthy eating. Mr F is back to work tomorrow so I shall go back to my normal routine too.
Plus I'll need to de-Christmas as I haven't taken the decs down yet.
Have a great day

Echo what Cheery_Daff says. Glad you feel a bit better. You have been so busy, so hopefully you are recharged now.
Its great that your overpayment allowance shows. I would have to work ours at, although we will be nowhere near to that anytime soon."Think of many things, do one"
