A Brief Hiatus
I got in an hours walking and an hours gardening yesterday morning.again 😇 Also got my planned chores done in plenty of time to attend the WI Committee Meeting. It was lovely to see people and the President had arranged drinks and nibbles so it all felt very social 😁 I was worried that we'd lost a lot of members during the pandemic and we have lost a few but we have gained a few too. We also have some ideas for a venue for the full WI Meetings - our original venue closed unexpectedly and our stop-gap venue was in an open area in a noisy pub so not ideal (particularly when one of our speakers was booked to talk about pelvic floor issues and explain exercises 😲) We are planning to restart the meetings with a picnic in a local park. Everyone can bring their own food, drink, seating and an outdoor game if they have one. I've agreed to provide some raffle prizes.
Today my walking and gardening were prevented by the arrival of the boiler man. He managed to get away with replacing one part instead of the expected three so that will save something on the bill 😊 Although, he did say the other parts might still fail and he'd have to come back and replace them in that case. That won't cost any more than if he'd replaced all three parts today though so we're taking the chance. So far so good 😊
I also had my second jab this afternoon. My arm is a little sore and I'm a little tired so will probably have an early night. And then we'll see how I feel tomorrow. A haven't made any firm plans for the day and it won't hurt to have a brief hiatus. I managed to get a few washes done and hung afterwards but I'm taking it easy just in case.
We had Smoked Mackerel, Courgette & Butter Bean Salad for lunch and a quick and easy freezer fish and chips for supper.
No financials to report other than an NSD.
Happy Hump Day!

Urgh!
I woke up at 3.40 am yesterday morning with side effects from the vaccine. Felt very achey and uncomfortable and had a slight headache. Yesterday was a wash out as a result as I still felt unwell and had lost sleep. So I spent the day in bed and we had cheese and pickle rolls for lunch and pizza from the freezer for supper. Not the healthiest of meals but it won't hurt just for a day.
The veg box and grocery shops arrived. We're slightly over budget this week as I may have slipped a few ice creams onto the list 😊
I'm still a bit achey and shakey today but not enough to warrant pain killers. I'm going to try to do a little weeding in the flower beds this morning and a little light housework this afternoon. I was making good progress so it's frustrating to have the delay but I know I need to take care of myself. Mr F is still a bit under par and he had his second jab a week ago.
Right, better get started.

Sorry to hear that you're not feeling great Fortune. I hope things improve for you today. If not, just sit and enjoy the garden instead of weeding!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Sorry to hear you're both feeling a bit ropey Fortune. I've not slept particularly well the last couple of nights either. Hope you're feeling better soon, and yes, I second (or third) the idea of just sitting in the garden with an ice cream!5

A Quick Recovery
Thanks for the good wishes guys. I was feeling much better by lunchtime so it's actually been quite a productive day.
I did an hours weeding of the flower bed and another couple of hours of light housework. Lunch was Minty Pea & Potato Soup with rolls. There was enough for a further 3 portions so I've popped those in the freezer. Supper was Bacon, Spinach & Gorgonzola Pasta and there's enough sauce left over for another meal so I'll put that in the fridge for a quick supper on Sunday.
I'm very glad to be feeling better as we've planned a day out tomorrow to a local estate. They only open their doors to the public once or twice a year so I didn't want to miss it. The weather is set to be glorious over the weekend so we should be able to get some gardening done too. My arm and neck are still a little stiff so I shall take a precautionary anti-inflammatory at bedtime just to make sure I'm fit for the day 😊
Have a great weekend folks.
