Thank you for the well wishes. I'm still hospital bound but doing well. I'm still on IV antibiotics because they want to get me as right as possible. I think they're tired of seeing me ;)

The ladies on my ward are wonderful but with it being a respiratory ward I've seen so much that makes me thankful that I don't have to live like they do. What is the saying? There by the grace of God go I? Is that right?

I think it is "There but for the grace of God go I" if I remember right.

Crossing my fingers and toes that you get well enough to go home soon.

  • Fuddle - do take care my dear. I knew you were far too special to have pneumonia - it's sooooo dreadfully common you know. Far better to have something unique :D
Joking apart - I do hope you are resting up and the hospital staff can get things under control.

Busy weekend here - lots of gardening as I'm afraid each weekend may be the last. It's chilly in the mornings although I'm heading south for a few days this week so may be slightly warmer!

I saw the As** store had pumpkins today but I was too busy to buy any. I will pick them up next weekend and make my front doorstep look pretty. I tried to find orange and red chrysanthemums on Friday but they seem to be non existent now. The chap in Dobbies said I was months too late - well maybe from a marketing point of view but not from a gardening perspective!

Off to make my no soak oatmeal for tomorrow's breakfast - porridge it ain't but it will have too do!

  • Morning, FUDS hope you had the best night's sleep in ages pet, concentrate on getting totally over this before you embark on any further adventures!

Success yesterday in that a small garden table and a wooden cupboard surplus to needs were put at the end of the drive with a notice on both saying 'free, please take' and both items were gone within a couple of hours. We did the same with a wooden rocking chair that had lived in the summer house for years last week and that went very quickly, nice to be able to 'give' and have people take what we don't have need for any longer. We now have an Ikea double bed that Nell had and doesn't need now to dispose of. We'll offer it on freecycle and see if there are any takers.

He Who Knows has got the cold/cough that I've been suffering from for the last couple of weeks and is feeling bleurgh! today but has taken Cookie walking for a breath of fresh air. I'm going into town on the bus to get my rail ticket for Friday as I'm off to Nell for a concert on Saturday and I'll get into Wilkos for some more cough sweets and some cold cure for the poorly one. If this is indicative of our health for the coming winter I'm fed up with it already!!!
  • Ouch.....when I was out walking with Maisie doggie and her mum last night we walked the coastal path here which isn't paved and is very stony and uneven and I managed to catch the toe of my boot on a large embedded stone in the middle of the path and plummeted!!! I'm lucky in that I didn't have time to try and stop myself falling so I bounced but have some sore bits this morning. The path is very rough and luckily I had gloves on so my hands are only sore, not cut. I have a sore hip, thigh and knee and have bruised a rib but lucky not to have anything broken. That will teach me to pick my feet up won't it?

He Who Knows seems to be feeling a little better this morning and has gone off to walk Cookie, it feels cooler again today and we have quite a breeze stirring the tree tops outside, really autumnal and drifts of leaves on the pavements now but it IS very pretty with the colour of the turning leaves and as of yet...still dry! Don't know what's on for today, house tidying for sure and a tiny bit of ironing from what I washed yesterday, I may try to persuade him to take us somewhere for a change of scenery but that's dependent on him feeling up to it. Have a good day everyone, Lyn xxx.
