Slinky Why can people no longer accept that sometimes accidents happen
I remember being told I was 'disgusting' for having my 4 yo and 7 yo sons (as well as 5yo DD) with me in the female changing room by an older lady - no way was I going to leave them alone in the male changing rooms - I just smiled and said 'what a very strange view point, I assume it was normal to leave children alone in the 30's' she shuffled off huffing that she wasn't 'that old'
Talking of kids, DS2 has been offered the second job he interviewed for, and will be off in 4 weeks - strange mix of being proud of him, but gutted he's off - have been all smiles to his face. DH is more gutted than me, he loves his littlest step son and they are such good mates

Fortunately OH is only on the contract for another 3 months, and we're away for a couple of weeks in the middle of them (where we'll be staying somewhere with a crowded pool!!). He went for a walk last night when normally he'd have swum. He's walked into work today so that he won't lose his space in the hotel carpark, as they're setting up for a beer festival today. I'm sure he'll be enjoying a beer tonight instead of a swim!Make £2025 in 2025

Islandmaid - is the second job over the water? I'm assuming so. Both of mine only live within a 5 mile distance and I still miss them - at 49 and 50 I should have got used to it by now!
My boys changed with me too when they were young - silly woman.
Made me think of Hester's daughter. Ive been helping a lady with her laptop who has recently started fostering - she has 3 siblings the youngest is a 4 year old girl & the social worker told her that the child has to bath on her own!!!! - I dont think she's going to let that happen though! Some of the rules and regulations are beyond believing and child protection and H & S contradict one another so huge respect to HuH DD
Will be bliddy glad to get rid of this heart monitor tomorrow morning - the pads are itching 'cos I'm hot and my bra keeps getting in the way (no not going braless thank you - I need all the support i can get lol) Had a mad 5 mins yesterday and took up the doormat and two rugs and the non slip sticky things from the hall carpet. Horrified by the much lighter parts where the rugs had been so cue me on hands and knees with a damp soapy cloth giving the carpet a good going over. Looks lovely now!
DS2 is working near DS1 today so I will pop over for a cuppa and hopefully see them both together - doesnt often happen except for high days and holidays
DH has decided to make 'something' in the garage which involved welding and grinding - he came in yesterday afternoon sweaty and covered in grime - why does it have to be done while its hot??? Because he's bored I expect and needs either to demolish something or make something;)
Monna - despite my love of the water I'm not a great swimmer - dog paddle covers it!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I'm sure he'll be enjoying a beer tonight instead of a swim!
Now that sounds like a plan
Silva The job, is indeed on the 'North Island', less than 20 Miles, as the crow flies, but that bit of water, though I love my home, can be a pain sometimes.
We can't moan, most 'kids' leave the Island at some point, many return when they have families, for teens and 20 something's it is a bit of a cultural desert for much of the yearNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Just to flag up that it would appear that KITTIE of all people has been PPR'd, it seems so very unlikely that she would have posted anything untoward I feel she must have had something very unpleasant happen possibly linked to another thread. None of her posts are in any way offensive so I can only think that whatever it was may have been caused by a PM and her response to it. We've had a few abrasive posters over on the Brexit Prep thread and words have been heated but nothing offensive from Kittie, I guess it could be something that happened from that?0

Not all will agree and many will think I'm crackers but eldest DD now has a very smart bob, cut from hair that was getting very long and straggly by my very fair hands.
I am self taught and use kitchen scissors that are sharpened prior to any hair cutting event. I have surpassed myself with this one. It falls beautifully, is neat, perfectly straight and my DD gave me a hug in thanks. Those days are generally over so I'm chuffed! Free too!
I promised youngest DD that she could make courgette cake but my scales have ran out of battery (manual scales in future!) Cake making was off the agenda for today until she chirped up that we should look for an American recipe as they use cups. Why didn't I think of that???, So she's baking as I chill with my feet up.
Today is a good kidder day, yesterday however :eek:0 -
I love Kittie's posts, I can't see that she has ever been offensive - if you are reading Kittie, please don't leave altogether xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

I can't swim at all, and I'm actually scared of the water.
I'd probably have trouble if I ever chose to learn (fat chance, btw) as I need assistance with dressing/undressing, and my sole carer is male (my DH).
We had no problems when we visited the Blue Lagoon in Iceland though - they directed us to the excellent disabled facilities and didn't bat an eyelid that I had an opposite-gender carer.
Fuddle you truly are multi-talented; well done on doing your DD's hair.
Mr LW does mine, but all that consists of is trimming back the last half-inch to get rid of the split ends occasionally, nothing fancy. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
There is no way Kittie could post anything offensive!Must use my stash up!0

I am appalled at kittie's treatment. She would never have deliberately posted anything contentious. The cynic in me suspects that someone has a personal agenda here, it smacks very much like a vendetta.
kittie, if you read this please know that we are firmly on your side and if there is anything we can do to help, we will surely do it.I believe that friends are quiet angels
