He's on the list of things to do Floss eg report him . I'm currently considering a young guy who reminds me of our dear driver who used to take us everywhere including the far away hospital . he used to go to Taskers or somewhere and would only be minutes away for the return journey . He's now retired but urged me to ring him if needed . I reckon he deserves a rest now . Young guys mum has severe rheumatoid and other illnesses and is under the consultant dd is now under locally . Her first appt is in a few weeks . His mum has been sending positive messages regarding the local Rheumo dept which is reassuring after the previous consultant who could have competed with Mar's heifer .
Hope you're enjoying the lottie and sitting plotting .

Don't worry Tiny , Brain Fog is my new middle name . I'm struggling to remember what day or month it is at the moment . I'm also the queen of the typos but Monna would say I do have a most inconvenient memory at times .
OK someone plug the iron in !
polly who still isn't ironing . xIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Afternoon all,
Just taking a break as I've been messing about with the plant pots.
Polly, thank you for the positive vibes. I haven't had time to do much shabby chic and most of it is on hold until we buy a house in the next year or so. After that I may be a bit more used to my job and ready to get started on some projects again.
Fellow lefty here, although I now do some things right handed. I generally found it easier to change me than the stuff around me I needed to use as a child. That said I'm still not great with certain kinds of tin openers.
Tinydancer, I've stopped using the Thanks button, not because I don't want to thank people but I found sometimes my thanks weren't registering and other times I'd accidentally miss someone. At one point it caused a lot of trouble when other posters took it personally that a post wasn't thanked. I'd hate to make anyone feel they were slighted.:o
No fresh news about dad, but there will be more tests on Monday. He may be able to move out of ICU soon and mum says he is much more lively and feeling a bit better. Hopefully they'll have him patched up by the time my brother and I visit. OH has spoken to FIL is who is slightly better spirits. He has a first counselling appointment with one of the cancer charities tomorrow so hopefully that will help as well.
Nargle, Empty and anyone else who needs a hug, have two.x0 -
I only use the thanks button for those that really make me laugh and then just to remember where I've read up to as I'm afraid it's in one eye and out the other for me!Spend less now, work less later.0

maryb i'm so glad he's doing well :j
FPk I'm glad your DDad is improving
mardatha I hope you get some more sunshine soon!
taurusgb I'm going to Germany to see my sister-in-law (my brother's widow). She's American but has lived there for many years. We don't really have that much in common, I suppose, but she is very nice. She plans to take me to a Bierfest in the town where her son and his wife live, as I haven't met them yet. She and my brother had only been married about 5 years, so I've only met her on visits, and when they came here to visit.0 -
Confession time again, I forget all about thanks buttons for ages. Once in a while a have an attack of conscience and hit every thanks button I come across, but it doesn't last long.
Apologies to everyone who thinks I am an ungrateful cow.
DS2 uses left hand for somethings and right for others. Very confusing. He has never done a backhand in tennis, he simply swaps hands. Pickle is similarly left handed but hasn't started playing tennis yet.
Nice to see you Polly. I worry when people disappear but I know that you lead a hectic life. How's the shoulder?I believe that friends are quiet angels

I always click the thanks button. I don't feel I have finished, if I don't click the thank you. It's a very good way of seeing where you got to if you miss a few. I don't ever thank obnoxious posters.
Sorry I have been missing. I was awake all night on Friday so slept very late yesterday. Those kids kept kept me awake last night so I have had a long nap this afternoon.0 -
Well done fuddle, what a nasty man he is. May his peas wither and his potatoes get blight.
What a lovely memorial for your Dad VJsMum.
Have a good break taurus, the first time I went away on my own was to Hong Kong, en route to Australia to meet friends. Once in HK, the realisation that I was on my own hit me and I burst into tears! I was 52. I gave myself a good talking to, checked my book for places I wanted to visit and set off. I must say it was the most fantastic 5 days and completely liberating, only me to please so I could go where I wanted, look at what I wanted to look at and eat whatever I wanted (although I mostly survived on rice and crisps!). Enjoy yourself!
Amazing recovery for your DH maryb.
We've had some much needed rain here, two claps of thunder yesterday but that was it. Everything in the garden is much fresher now but the grass has gone a rather alarming shade of black in places. I'm clearly not very good at distributing the weed and feed, some of it is in lines where I have thrown it. I have raked out 2 bucket loads of moss and am hoping the rain will help to green it up a bit. A gardener I am not!0 -
He was there this afternoon. He tried to ignore me. I said to him that he acts like he has been wronged. I told him that the door was ajar and he suddenly remembered that he left open a little way for ventilation. When I said I found it with room enough for a cat and that I felt he had lied to my face he went on about having other people's plots to look after t.o. I said that is the correct answer to "have you had problems with caring for my greenhouse" and all would be well.
He's happy to ignore me and that's suits me as I will ignore him quite happily. DH has suggested I email the site warden with what has gone on from my side. He thinks the man is vindictive and could try anything. I'm likely to get his slugs and snails thrown over but DH is worried about weedkiller or trying to get me thrown off the site. At least I have the email to use of anything came out of the woodwork.
I know all this sounds petty but it's the principle... and I just can't ever show weakness I guess.
Anyway my friend has given me rhubarb as my plant is still a baby and some sweet pepper plants for the greenhouse.she weaves so when I get some willow she's going to show me how to make a basket.. I'm clinging on to positives tonight. I am beat with it all although I recognise I am my own worst enemy.

monna the shoulder pain is on and off depending on how much I use it . I'm trying to be careful but some things need doing . Thank you for asking and take care .
nm I hope you're still watching the lists for suitable flats . I don't feel the noise and other problems will suddenly stop . To be honest all the disruption if the heating is installed at last would be enough to put me off staying there . I can't understand why the onus is on you to replace doors . Surely they are part of the fabric of the building and not your responsibility .
camelot It's not everyone's cup of tea but I got rid of the lawns a few years ago . Lovely to look at but too much faff for an organic gardener . Any spare rain will be welcome here .
I see I managed to turn my three daughter's into four further up thread , think I've finally lost the plot , there were only three when I last did a head count . I blame the heat .
For those who were around during the never to be forgotten summer of 76 I'm beginning to worry we could be headed for a repeat . Things are feeling as that year did . Hopefully I'm wrong I was a lot younger then and may have to head to the frozen wastes this time .
Well ironing is done . I'm about to work out which sheets of DDs Warwick Edinburgh completed sheets apply to which Dr , Psych or Physio for this weeks appts . I've resorted to a coding system involving coloured shiny stars for the diaries etc but forgot it for all these . The years of handing out stars to middle infants and brownies were not wasted .
Have a good evening all . I'm hoping to watch the final episode of the Jeremy Thorp drama and then head for bed .
