Mardatha - My menfolk did offer to take me with them but I knew they would have a much better time without me. I love motorcycles, I adore camping, but not in the tiny one man tents they like best for this type of trip. To be fair they offered to put their bikes on the trailer and take our campervan so I could be comfy, but I didn't want to cramp their style [STRIKE]and the campsite they had chosen looked a bit rough and ready and I'm getting on a bit now[/STRIKE] :rotfl:

Ivyleaf where are you off to? Hope you have a great time

Monogran I shall embrace all selfish options !

Nargeblast can I please offer you my good wishes and hope for the future. I've been where you are and it's not easy. In fact having cancer myself and then watching my husband go through it, I can't say which was the most difficult - in both cases though, living a day at a time and not letting ourselves look for any other bridges to cross other than the one we were on, did make things a bit more bearable. As did laughter if you can find any.

Cat is now esconced in the cattery - she will hate me for a at least a week when I fetch her home. How is it that animals just know when something is in the wind? I came downstairs this morning, put on the kettle, and went to feed her, all things I do every single day.....and she was hiding underneath the dresser. She only ever does this when she is due to go to either the cattery or the vet, I'm beginning to think she can read minds.

Mar good luck with the DLA . Wishing you some sun and time outdoors . So much sun here and I'd send it to all who need some , after a while I'm longing for cool not got the genes for hot and humid .

Tinydancer Reading your post about painting furniture reminded me of the Shabby Chic Thread on OS . It used to be very busy but not so much in the last year or so . I've just bumped it to put it on the first page of the forum . It covers all sorts of upcycling , sewing and other topics and there's lots of info there .
I'll try to get back on there in a few days . Busy week ahead .

I haven't heard the gammon thing before; but I reckon it would have described my father. You could offer him incontrovertible evidence that he was incorrect about something, and still he would insist he was right. And the things he disliked....
Any foreign food (if there wasn't meat'n'two veg on his plate he'd throw a major paddywack); anyone who disagreed with him on religion or politics; divorce (he once told my Aunt B that her arthritis was a "punishment from God" for helping my Aunt J through her divorce); left-handed people (and yes, I'm a leftie; he spent my early childhood trying to beat that out of me).... the list goes on. Horrible man!

Taurusgb I am convinced that both cats and dogs are psychic. My childhood companion Tina always knew when the bus was due and my mother was therefore coming home from work. Nothing odd about that, animals have a good sense of time - but Tina also knew if the bus wasn't running; normally she's start looking about 5 minutes before the bus was due, but somehow, the days they cut that bus (which was often, I have to say), she didn't bother til half an hour later, when the next one was due. How she knew I never did work out.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Thanks Polly, he's getting stronger every day. He can walk at a moderate pace for an hour a day now

Though I have the definitive answer to the question of whether a triple heart bypass cures snoring:rotfl:

Never been so happy to be lying next to him while he's ronfling away:D
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

    Lovely Maryb.
Karcher, Burtha I hope you are both ok.
I'm a leftie too LW, so is CHS, my ex MIL always used to complain that everything in my kitchen was ' the wrong way round '.
When I explained that it was the way I wanted it, she said I should make it ' normal ' so it would be easier for my then husband.
I told her that the day he managed to even find the kitchen I'd make it normal!!
    Chin up, Titus out.

I'm so happy to read that maryb . The big nasty things do put snoring in perspective . It's not enjoyable but worth tolerating after facing the bigger stress .

Wolfy I'm a leftie as you know , as are three of the four daughters and my only son . it goes back through my family for generations . Dad was left handed and aunts and uncles . I was lucky my family were kind .Taught by nuns until the upper 5th was a different matter . Some were fine to others left handed people were the spawn of the devil .

The reason I am still 100% left handed is probably a throwback to the past , I could have mastered both but the seed of defiance was planted .

Years ago I had a neighbour who was a J Witness who informed me both dd2s deafness and dd3s problems were a judgement as I got divorced from their toxic father . I never spoke to her again .
Mr Gammon taxi driver has been telling youngest she will be cured of everything if she abandons her 13+ meds and switches to CBD oil . He heard about it on the radio it seems .

Thankfully she has the intelligence and wide knowledge of medical science not to bin the meds . Others may fall for his rather dangerous opinions which isn't good .

    Another leftie here.

What a silly man, your gammon taxi driver is Polly, And speaking of shabby chic forum, I used to be one there many, many moons ago. Had no idea it was still going.
BTW, can anybody help me with the etiquette of "thank you" button? I have some but never used it,much to my shame. Do you "thank" each post you read?
    Thank you

Tiny i thank the posts I agree with . Only once in a blue moon do we have a nasty post and I don't thank those . i must point out if I haven't thanked posts by the regulars it's because I 've not caught up :rotfl:

I'm wondering who you were on the Shabby chic thread , Were you around when Emma Kate and the crowd were there and it was very busy ? I seem to have bumped it a number of times in the last few years . People will start posting again and then it will slowly wind down again . I'm bad at keeping up with multiple threads due to lack of time but hope that will improve once we finish with all these appointments .

FairyPK used to post there but her life is full on at the moment for various reasons .

Hester I've remembered a big wish from a while back you spoke of . It isn't something marine related you're talking of is it ?

polly who should be ironing !
