That's what I do SS, I don't dwell and mull lol but I don't ever trust that person again. I think if people do you a bad turn once then they'll do it again.
I'm somewhat ratty and bored this morning - does it show0 -
SILVASAVA wear something bright, cheerful and full of colour, take a bottle of bubbly, sing her favourite song whether appropriate or not, toast her with a 'BON VOYAGE AUNTIE' as you scatter and buy some of the prettiest flowers you can find and take off the petals to scatter on top of Auntie and don't be sad, remember the good times and celebrate her because sure as eggs is eggs she'll be there with you enjoying it! xxx.0

Glad the thunder managed to spread itself upwards last night. It was certainly spectacular, and loud. I saw blue lights flashing up the road at one point. Couldnt see what they were attached to but it was more excitement than we are used to in this quiet corner.
Looking out this morning it's hard to believe that the cold dreary weather is set to return. Still, must make the most of this sunshine while it lasts. See how we count our blessings, mar?
A late start today after the tumultuous night. I spent most of it watching programmes I've recorded and not got around to watching. Last night it was The House of Eliott. I loved when it was first shown but had forgotten a lot of it so am enjoying it second time around. Now I must go and see how Millies monkey is drying out. She left him out last night and it is even more battered and bedraggled than ever.
Silvasava, Mrs LWs ideas sound just the ticket. Perhaps your aunt had a favourite flower, or use some wild flowers. Going to and fro on the ferry I''ve sometimes seen pathetic bouquets of flowers or elaborate wreaths floating past, and they seemed so sad. I think Lyn's idea of petals is much better. Enjoy the trip.
THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY
Happiness cannot be travelled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude. (Denis Waitley)I believe that friends are quiet angels

Monna - apparently a local golfer had his house burnt down after a lightning strike... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5643071/Hole-one-Professional-golfers-Isle-Wight-home-destroyed-lightning-strike.html (apologies for the source... it was the first one offered by google!)0

Pah! A likely tale! If you were 100% non extracted Irish you'd know the only purpose of a grave is for carrying grudges to!
Has a feeling it's a Celtic thing - and not specifically Irish....
English me is currently trying to think up a variety of appropriate sentences to get the topic of conversation changed to a non-controversial one any time it veers into a controversial one (that is not regarded as controversial by a noticeable number of people in current immediate vicinity - but it is...it is....and I do get fed-up any time someone is "off on one" assuming everyone in the room agrees with them:cool:).
All suggestions for quick/effective ways to change a controversial topic of conversation back onto what we're supposed to be talking about/something else "innocent" welcomed - as I've not really been able to think of any suitable ones yet besides a direct request for "change of topic please". Humorous ways to get people off the subject they are trying to raise before they start stating that a controversial topic is non-controversial (yeah right - of course it is:cool::cool:) and that their personal opinion is a "fact - and not their personal opinion" welcomed.
My brain hurts trying to think of suitable ways to deal with - before it goes off into "well worn paths" ....and that's another conversation ruined....:(. It's quite easy in one of those "conversations in passing on a bus with a stranger" and controversial topics aren't very likely to come up in that context and, if they do, I just put a totally blank/their remark has just gone straight over my head look on my face and change the subject or look out the window absentmindedly. But it's harder when it happens in a group one is in.
*********
Personally - I can't even remember if someone has decided to "hold a grudge" and what it was they said/did that caused it all and just remember enough to steer clear of them if possible LOL. I CBA to "hold a grudge until death" personally.0 -

What a sad thing to come online to . The power of Mother Nature at her worst . Stay safe monna . Thoughts with all those affected , hopefully all will be well with the person taken to hospital and sadness for the lost pet .
I was going to talk about grudges but it doesn't seem fitting at the moment .
The thunder and lightening work me in the middle of the night . Nothing on the scale down south . Rained all morning and a dirty sky now . We'll count our blessings .

Grudge won't be the bloody half of it if I wake up next week to minus 5 and snow :mad:0

We're just on our way back home after doing (most of) the NC500. I say most of because we didn't do the bit round John O Groats, we went up to the North coast via Helmsdale instead, and we finished at Fort William rather than going back to Inverness. Stunning scenery and pleasant weather apart from today. So I think we picked the right week weather wiseIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
