Fuddle - You are quite right - no good worrying about something that hasn't happened - old adage,Hope for the best but prepare for the worst and I've a very active imagination lol! Ive had an MRI scan some years ago - no problem as you just lie there and its not really claustrophobic - just close your eyes and think of the lottie! Yesterday was a CT scan & as Greenbee says it was a doughnut type so I just relaxed and enjoyed the peace & quiet (apart from the machine telling me to breathe in etc!) If I'd known it was that type of procedure I wouldnt have worried!
Like NM I've been on medication for BC - which has now finally finished (10 years) I went on rthe BC website to see if anyone had any problems with stopping this particular med - found out many people have had issues (which I had put down to age) including palpitations and irregular heartbeat. TBH I'm hoping that this has been the problem after all. We shall see.
On a much lighter note - the Lady Blackbird seems to be favouring the left hand nest - not sure if the other one is to let yet ;) I've spent today altering a huge boat cushion into two, waterpoofing my sprayhood and pottering in the garden. DS1 has just invited us to the first BBQ of the year - get us Softstuff (BTW - thanks for info on the cauli leaves)
So pleased to hear your son has got his flat NM - things are starting to move in the right direction for you both.
I do hope everyone gets to enjoy some sunshine and sending a virtual sunbeam to Mardatha and those north of the border
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Just back from a lovely 3 days in north Wales. Saw 2 swallows this morning (i told them we were glad they were back!). Lovely sunshine and lots of flowers at Bodnant Gardens, too breezy yester, fab sunshine and warmth today. Hooray!

Just popped in to carch up because my tablet just would not work with hotel wifi so I have missed you all :)

The weather is so lovely here that DH and I are going for a stroll before tea. Back to work tomorrow but am hopeful that my afternoon client will want me to take her on a trip out in the sun, rather than re-arrange the clothes in her wardrobe :D

Does anyone know how Karcher is? Mx
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

That sounds like a lovely break . The sun has been shining here now for a few hours and what a difference it makes .
I was last in touch with Karcher following her last post here . She needs a bit of time I think so I'm sending her strength and love until we see see her again .
Also house selling and legal stuff settlement vibes to burtha . Please let you get some summer in a forever home . I'm also beginning to doubt whether I can still dance on the table with you when we have the party . I may need my step stool to get up there but I can still dance . No leaping on top these days sadly , no wonder my joints are wrecked .

We have had a lovely sunny day here, I had my free hair cut today and it's turned out well.

I spent most of the day with DD1 and her twins in their garden.

There are lots of birds where we are moored, bluetits, blackbirds, ducks, moorhens even a pair of blackheaded gulls, I haven't seen any swallows yet.
Please remember that 2 swallows do not a summer make, and 3 swallows do not make a relationship!
    Chin up, Titus out.

Fuds, the MRI scanner is fine, honestly, I've had a couple, Hubby has them regularly, but I do get it, it's the unknown. I visited the dentist recently for the first time in (far to many) years, I had visions of all my teeth needing filling, removing, sorting but no, just one needing treatment. I'm still scared witless even though it's a treatment I've had before but a quick visit to the GP has helped with a prescription for something to take the edge off.

I shall be joining you with the allotment chat now too, we decided to pop our name on the waiting list for one in the next town (none here in the village) and it turns out there's no waiting list and we picked our plot yesterday. It's in a bit of a state and the allotment manager is going to weedkill, rotavate and cover the entire plot in weed membrane for us so we have a blank canvas to start with. (I think seeing DH struggle on his crutches made him a bit more charitable to helping us out). I can't wait to get up there and get started.

  • nursemaggie, I have the same problem but have found that can use those bottle openers with two handles and 3 different sizes of ring grips to solve the problem. The smallest grip fits the bottle top and the serrated edge can squeeze the grip points so I can twist and pull at same time. It takes a bit of practice but is doable even for my hands.

Pooky it's good to see you . That's good news about the lottie . I hope your husband will be able to sit in the sun and enjoy being there . Do you still have cats ? Probably a daft question as I suspect you always will .
It is you who did paper cutting isn't it ? I tried to teach myself back in early 2015 and was judged unfit to be in charge of scalpels by the family . The proposed project has recently been dug out and I'm slowly charting it for counted cross stitch . I'll do it on fine linen with what are now called Vintage dmc flower threads . They've been in the stash for many years but it does make me wonder at the definition of vintage nowadays .
It's intended as a special gift for youngest . A poem tribute online within hours of Terry Pratchett's death . For any interested who haven't seen it google Poem for your sprogs . The sun goes down upon the Ankh . Just perfect .

Regarding the dentist . I think it's the waiting time before the day that's a problem . Too much time for what ifs . It has to be that way but if it was instant there wouldn't be time to think .

Meanwhile back in the land of the fuddled brain . How did I in plain sight of the entire dvd collection type in Frazier rather than Frasier ? I do worry about me sometimes .
I did a very mangled and repetitive reply to NM earlier too . I'm blaming the exposure to lots of sugar , maybe inhaling it has a weird effect .
Oh and that angry red face in my post a few days ago . I've never used that and always disliked it . I must have been a ratty polly indeed . Watch out RV I may be under another birth sign but I seem to be cultivating ratty .

Silva I'm wondering if the lady blackbird is any good at building a nice little home for monna while she waits for the right one to come along . With enough skill it could be a nice little earner once monna moved out .
I've been pondering the Procrastination thought for the day a few weeks ago . I never knew the first week in March is national procrastination week in the USA . Each month and some weeks are other topics . I'm not sure if it applies elsewhere but i came across it in a little book on organising your life daily through the year . it's either a sentence or paragraph each day .
The idea looks doable for most days taken day by day . I did note you can take it easy on Christmas Day but have to clean all big appliances inside and out on boxing day . Hmm :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Anyway I'll post this before the site goes down . Goodnight all see you on the other side tomorrow .

Fuddle, it's times like this it's a shame we're distant... I could have given you a tour of an MRI machine. I'm claustrophobic, but have managed it well a couple of times now (and probably will manage a few more). It's noisy yes, but for me I close my eyes and try and convince myself it's a neighbour playing dance music and it will be over soon.

Silvasava, we're still BBQ'less, so you'll be one up on us!
