nannywindow said:Hello Fencers, nice to see you posting once more, I'm guilty of being a bit lax lately in my posting, but RL keeps getting in my way.......How very dare it !! 😂
I decided to paint a room upstairs this week but didn't think about the time it would take me to finish it 🙄 I keep forgetting that I'm no longer a spring chicken and getting slower and slower at doing things.
I too don't like the bad language on TV, nor when walking in town 😟 I don't understand why people have to speak that way. I love old movies of the 40's/50's. The Ghost of St Michael's with Will Hay was on the other night, good old humour and no swearing in sight. I'm watching The Staircase at present, seems it's a true story but I don't know whether it was murder or an accident. I'll have to wait till the end to find out though as I shall not g00gle the outcome before it finishes.
Polly I've only just read your post today and I'm so sorry that you're still poorly and in pain. Is it just resting and gentle exercise that you need to do ? I admit I had to google rotator cuff tear because I thought it would be near the wrist, I'm such a dullard !
Thank you for asking about Mr Fix It, he's ok and as good as can be expected and he's not going anywhere without a fight ( anyway I won't let him go just yet as he's too useful around the house 😉 ) We have the sun back here today too but for how long I don't know, the weather seems very unpredictable lately.
Anyway I shall send you very heavy duty healing vibes 😁 All my love Amy/ nan xx
Take care all
nanLovely to see you Nan. I was so frustrated when my reply to your lovely and very interesting pm refused to go to you. I've no idea why it isn't working. Youngest who can figure out most tedh problems got my home page back the other day but couldn't work out the pm problem. It's good to hear Mr Fix It is plodding on and there's no way he'll get past Amy Post she was very determined.I've come to the conclusion the last couple of years have made many of us aware we aren'r spring chickens anymore.I've Never felt older there's a lot I can do when well but am now needing to take my own advice. Count the Spoons and Pace. It's difficult when I was always the doer but this pain has forced me to slow down.I wanted to catch up and then keep up with two threads so that is my focus at the moment. Merrily scattering typos as I type with one finger. Sometimed I notice two worfs with no space between them. A spellimg error or other mistake but often not. With rotator cuff tears sometimes one or more steroid injections with work. I had oral first this time and they didn;t work so it was injections it doesn't feel as painful now so maybe it's starting to work.Superdoc has otdered scans so they can see where the damage is.Youngest had scans a few years ago and they showed Calcification had built up in her shoulder. That meant hospital and I sat in the room near her as the Dr blasted away Calcification which resembled something you;d see on a very neglected tap in a hard water area.He stoppped every few munutes to inject painkiller. It did eventually solve the ptoblem She has to be careful carrying things but otherwise is ok.I always try to think back to when and how something could have happened so have been back to the first tears when I was holing the weight of the garage door a few years ago. I didn't have scans then just carried on as normal. I have carried a lot of heavy bags since. Something that came back to me earlier was talking to Mar late one night a few months ago. She was in pain and so was I and neither of us could get comfortable enough to get any sleep or rest.It was when I'd posted about searching for a guinea Pig in a dream when Mrs CD and her husband had their Tom and Barbara moment. I was thinking I/d slept the day away when I'd misread the 24 hr clock.Something I remember saying to Mar was even my shoulder blades hurt. I didn't remember that until I saw Superdoc. I do feel it's beginning to ease so hopefully the steroids are doing theitr job.I'm trying to be more mindful of what I lift or do from now on. Fibro Fog often means I forget so I need to stop and think before doing anything.Thank you for the healing vibes and kind thoughts Amy.Love to you bothpollyxx

Thanks Polly but I read it wrong too, I could have sworn it said Amy Posh and I thought 'd been promoted 🥇 Back to being good old Amy Pond then phew, mind you I don't know who I am in RL half the time either 🤣
Love Amy Pond/ nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently3 -
You can be Amy Posh if you like.pollyxxETA Would you like an Armchair? I sound like Mar but was thinking if you're going to be painting rooms etc a very old suitcase isn't the best thing to spend your time sitting on.polllyxxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Thanks Polly I'd like that very much, can I put in a request for a very soft cushioned rocking chair ? That suitcase gets awfully cold in winter and if my Mum is correct I may get piles from sitting on somewhere soooo cold for long stretches of time 🥶 😂 The Doctor sure takes his time between visits !
Mar if you're reading this thanks for the suggestion of the armchair 🧡 I am sending my love and lots of healing vibes to you and the RV. Take care both 🧡

You can have a lovely cushioned rocking chair if that is your wish Amy. TBH I always thought you had a pretty rotten deal with your Doctor. Decades waiting for him, he should have been ashamed of himself.Any particular colour of cushioning you would prefer?I hesitate to say this but you need to ditch the suitcase your Doctor isn't coming back and neither is mine although he's very kindly diversified via Staged and Good Omens.I'm haunting the big river site on a daily basis waiting for a release date for Good Omens 2.I was already haunting it to see if there was ever going to be a final Rebus book. There is ,in fact Ian Rankin has finished the first and is now working on the 2nd and final one. The first one is due Autumn and i ordered that as soon as it went on preorder. I shall do the same with the final one in the long sereis. All those books over the years and we needed an ending.pollyxxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

After saying neither yoiur or my Doctor would be coming back Nan David Tennant and Catherine Tate are filming for the 60th Anniversary of Dr Who next year No mention of your Doctor yet so don't park yourself on that old suitcase again. The rocking chair is much better.Russell T Davies will be back as the writer and when he left I stopped I stopped watching as Dr Who was never as good when he'd gone.So two new Rebus books this year and David Tennant it's a bit spoolky.Maybe I'm turning in to a wishing well.pollyxxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Hello everyone 🙋♀️
The weather here is awful today, rain, rain and more rain with thunderstorms forecast too. I'm hoping everyone is having better weather than us. Luckily we dodged the rain when I went shopping early this morning. Quite a few items seem to be missing or low stock on the shelves again, perhaps they just hadn't been restocked yet ?
Polly as you're now officially a wishing well ............ I'm thinking something along the lines of a Laura Ash*ey type floral print would suit me. Something like pink peony flowers on a white background perhaps 🤔 anyway I'll leave it up to you as I like surprises. I'll use the suitcase then as a footstool, very MSE. Glad you got your wish for more Rebus books. Amy/nan xx
Take care all

nan xxI'll probably have to have a think about a Laura Ashley floral. I still have a few of Lauras original long dresses from back in the days of flower power and singing San Fransisco with flowers in our hair.DD1 tried everything to have at least one but no chance.A few years ago when the LA home shop in the village had closing down signs in the window when we were walking past we were in there like greased lightning.Among lots of home bits I also bought a full bale of curtain and upholstery fabric for about £12 meters of it.It's good quality and my intention was curtains , cushions etc.A lovely pale Dove Grey with white seabirds. gulls I think but not likely to make a mess or steal anyones chips. It's hardwearing so would you like your chair upholstered in it?pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
