DD's birthday today, making me feel old!
I have to have a scan tomorrow on my leg as Dr lady thought I might have a blood clot lurking. It's quite painful to walk, but I think I've probably torn something inside.

Hi burtha. Scan showed no problems, but have to have a 2nd scan a week later just to make sure. At least this time it's a bit nearer to get to.
Spent this afternoon baking. Made 2 sandwich cakes for DH, some flapjacks and 12 Yorkshire puddings for the freezer then sausages for tea.
DDs have got me hooked on wordle...has anyone tried it?2025 Fashion on the ration

Yes MrsCD, I'm hooked on Wordle. The quickest I've done it is in 3 tries, but that was down to just a lucky first try. It usually takes me 4 or 5 attempts.
I'm just plodding through the days. My poor old David has been moved into a Nursing Home for a short time while a care package is being set up. At least, that is what we are told. I'm not so sure, but we will see.
In the meantime his cleaner and I are having a blitz on his kitchen.
I'm not over fussy about about the date stamps on tins, but 2002 is just a bit suspect, and half empty treacle tins that are cemented to the shelf have to be dislodged and disposed of. It's all good fun.I believe that friends are quiet angels

When I sorted my aunties house in 1995 there were unopened boxes of chocolates best before BBE dates under the bed in piles some still semi wrapped in the Christmas paper they’d been given in !4

I'm okay. Funeral went well and I've improved during the day. Didn't want to get out of bed this morning so took it slowly. Phoned the printers soon after they opened and the covers for the Order of service were ready so went to collect those. Spent last night folding the inners and put those inside the covers during my CBT session his morning. Last session so was shorter than usual to give the leaders time to contact us and talk about next steps.
I'm going on to one to one sessions. It was always going to be a different period of my life but mum's death means it will be radically different. I will need to do something about my weight but think sticking with the CBT whilst I juggle the Probate paperwork, clear the house, take my first steps with UC and PIP, put the bungalow up for sale but most important work out the shape of my life going forward and make sure to include some fun, lots of self-care and small improvements will work.
I was determined not to use a walker, just a stick but needed support from DS1 and his wife. Brother and his daughters + boyfriend (I like that boy) were in the front pew, already seated before everyone else came in, with an empty pew behind them (apparently one of the regular churchgoers had approached them to say that those pews were reserved for the family to which my niece replied son, grand-daughter, grand-daughter pointing at them each in turn. I put 4 orders of service flat inside plastic pockets and sprayed and wiped them for my brother and other vulnerable people to use.
Used the same technique yesterday when I delivered thank you notes to the doctor's surgery, podiatrists, audiologists and vampires for their care of my mother. I also picked up a 'Fit Note' (it said I was not fit to work due to arthritis, obstructive sleep apnoea, depression and bereavement). I also got my pills delivered and have set up 4 review appointments (all together) mid-February, blood and urine next Monday and when I dropped off 5 pairs of spectacles for vision aid and a note about my mother the receptionist said my eye test is due (so maybe the sore eyes are not all down to mum's dim lighting).
The bit about after the crematorium and donations got missed off the final edition so there were relatively few of us there but none of the awkward people came so lots of time to chat with mine and mum's cousins, their families and one remaining uncle. Plus DS1 and DS2 and their partners, some friends of DS2's who had asked to come and my dead brother's gf and 'sort of' grandchildren (born during his relationship with her, her own husband having walked out when his children were small). Best of all the room was large enough that my brother felt safe enough to stay for several hours. I got to share my 'first grandchild scan photo' with lots of people.
I've brought home 2 bagfuls of food (the little pasties will be bagged up in 2s and 3s tomorrow and frozen). The second bag is for DS3 who had to stay at home on poo patrol. Stuff came out of our drain yesterday and last time the big sucky came round and DS3 also paid to have the camera down, they said there's a big problem out in the backs and it is United Utilities responsibility, so DS3 filled out an online form and they said they'd be round by the 27th - so today or tomorrow. Basically stuff from other people's house is backing up and coming up our drain.
So my plan is to decompress, sleep all day tomorrow if I want to and then just do gentle pottering as and when I feel like it. Niece and her boyfriend are coming round next week to help me sort house stuff. If she gets her car back off my brother this will involve major cs and tip runs but bf assures me that he can tote quite a lot in his 100 l rucksack. I have little piles of photos to post out to people who weren't able to come to the funeral (I wasn't dragging a 91 yo across from Timperley and her younger sister seems to be having memory lapses),one friend lives in the IOM and doesn't fly, others are getting on, worried about the latest Covid wave and the long drive. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9 -

Phew, mothernerd, I'm worn out just reading about it!
Seriously though, I'm sure it's been quite an emotional, heavy day for you and you'll need a rest before starting again. Please take things slowly. I know you want it all sorted and done, but you have people who are willing to help, so take your time and look after yourself now.
