Oooh! burtha! I'm afraid I don't do hats, but I'm a good chucker of rice. Just for you I won't make it into a pudding first.
Polly, if I could find the basics I would do them. Promise.
weenancy, I see that you are well versed in Garden Fencer ways . In case you were wondering, the hot waiter is still comfortably housed in my wardrobe, and there he is staying. Because he's mine, d'ya hear? MINE.
I see that Ming is still claiming ignorance over all past aberrations.
Like I said. Barefaced Liar.
You can sue all you like madam. I have witnesses.I believe that friends are quiet angels

I'm so happy for you burtha you deserve to be happy. Talk of hats reminds me of a lovely young man who was regular poster on the Daily. Whenever he had a date we would start talking hats. Suddenly he stopped posting and we still wonder if we frightend Speky away. He was alovely young man who would post early in the morning and he really got into meal planning and money saving.I'm very relieved you know the history of Mar/Ming Nancy. It gets very tiring repeating the truth while madam denies everything. Apart from having a good memory I have evidence which she seems to have forgotten about. The whole saga began on Vanoonoos SHTF preppers thread a long time ago.It was a very long running thread and full of useful advice for Preppers .I began to wonder about Mar when the first Heffalump went missing then the walkers who walked up the hill and were never seen again. we were planning the OS Armada so we could escape should the Zombies arrive.I foolishly trusted her to look after our emergency chocolate supply and she ate the lot..She started laying trails of breadcrumbs to attract wee fluffy ducklings. considered baking gingerbread and disguiising her house as a gingerbread house to attract little children and anything that she considered edible was at risk.Eventually the thread was very long. There were some arguments and Zippy closed the thread. Not related to Mars hobbies. There is a lot of valuable info for preppers on that long running thread including some very usful info from Grey Queen and many others. Just before it was closed I decided to pin it because it was useful and it's in my favourites still.Later Zippy did links back to it and madam can deny everything until she's blue in the face and threaten to sue but all her dasterdly deeds are preserved into the future for all to see.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I woke this morning to the news Meatloaf had passed away and that came as a shock. He was born the year before me and his voice and Jim Steinmans words were always part of the soundtrack of my life'I'm not a hoardesr but over the years singles and LPs by Meatloaf, Dylan, Springstten amd Dr Hook , QueenThe beautiful South and so many others were changed to CDs and Dvds for the big Queen , Springsteen etc concerts ,Same with tv adaptations of classic books.I often listen again to many things including the Beautiful South.I've listened again recently to Ralph McTells Streets of London both the original and for the pandemic version.Today I'm remembering another favourite Simon and Garfunkel from Bookends, " Preserve your memories they're all that's left you" I'm grateful for being able to look back and remember all the things that brought me joy.So many in nursing homes have lost their memories.I think tonight will be listening to Meatloaf and as always Freddies "Day s of our lives" Goodbye. As always I'll watch Freddie with a lump in my throat but grateful for the memories.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

So sad about Meatloaf, an amazingly performer and, from the Rolling Stone article in the news today, a very difficult life at times. I am often frustrated when Bat Out of Hell is on the radio, but not the proper full version. I sometimes use that as my theme song when I am on night shifts, like a Bat Out Of Hell I'll be gone when the morning comes.....
Congratulations, burtha. The Fence of course will be the venue for your hen party. Who is going to be on the party planning committee? One life - your life - live it!5 -
I used to feel really frustrated with the shorter version of Bat out of Hel. I wish it had occurred to me to make use of "I'll be gone when the morning comes" that's a perfect theme song.It has brought back the memories of Jim Steinman. I dioubt either of them would have got so far had they not worked together. As Jim died a while ago I'd llke to picture them together again and raising hell."Total eclipe of the heart "and so many non meatloaf songs came from Jim.Those were the days of our lives.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Polly, did you see Paul Heaton on the fishing programme with Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer at Christmas? It was good to see him and Jackie again.2025 Fashion on the ration

Polly, did you see Paul Heaton on the fishing programme with Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer at Christmas? It was good to see him and Jackie again.I missed that. I'll have to see if I can find it. I miss The Beautiful South and I still think One God was a very underrated song. They saw the future CocaCola clouds behind a big Mac sun and they were spot on.Christmas i seemed to be watching endless repeats of Call the Midwife, Vera, George Gently etc. Winter Walks came as a blessed relief.I'm often reminded of the Manchester song when the rain lashes down.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Just popping by to say congratulations to Burtha. 🍾🥂
Nargle I second a Fencers party and I'll even volunteer to be the DJ as I have all my late BiL's vinyl records stashed away ( he had a DJ business but died suddenly aged 33 )
I too love reading along with this thread, most of you are nuts !! However I'm not going to be drawn on who is, or isn't as nutty as a fruit cake 🤣
Polly I miss Speky and his lady friends and my hat was out of it's box every time he mentioned a date 😂 Perhaps we ladies put the frighteners on him !
My favourite song is Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty, I want that played at my funeral along with "I've had the time of my life" from Dirty dancing. I've even booked my first dance with Patrick Swayze 😋 Should be fun as I have 3 left feet !

Another one here who love Meatloaf and Freddie
Listened to both Bat of Hell albums today I loved the fact that they were stories
I know when I first heard objects in the rear view mirror I didn't expect the story to be the one in the video
Given Meats tough childhood you could imagine some of the points from the song having happened
Congratulations Burtha
I also remember Speky and as well as his lady friends we used to hear about his favourite lady his nan
