I had something very similar at my eldest sons wedding . 
now it's youngest kids turn to clutter the house , I did do the number of shoes count at the door for food catering purposes lol . they managed to get through a 3k joint of pork , a large chicken and 3k of potatoes  . plus other bits and pieces, including fruit . all that's left if 5 bananas that need to do something with ... 
but they all were polite

I'm not really a fan of Creme Fraiche Mar but I don't like Yogurt either. Dd1 uses CF making Pasta Sauce and a lot of other things from scratch. If you have a look at BBC Good Food or a similar website you'll find lots of recipies using it.

I find I like it better than yoghurt but I know there's a lot of things you can do with it, Keep forgetting abt the BBC cooking site, ta Polly.

I always forget to mention the Grocery Challenge sticky  at the top of the Forum. Usually a good place to look up recipes.

Don't know if you saw the post from earlier referring to replacing our beloved fence.

I never liked Spam as a child and the newbie with about 5 posts referring to different sources of things from various parts of the world has gone.

Burtha wouldn't have liked her hand painted rainbows going to landfill.

 

Very belated good wishes to all for the year ahead. Hope those unwell or with poorly family and friends are on the mend.

I too ate all the chocolate monna. Left alone with lots of multi packs of Ritter bars, biscuits, tiny chocolate yule logs etc it was never going to go well. I would say never again but that wouldn't be true

I hope you enjoyed your break with your frog burtha and aren't getting moaning customers at work. We seem to have most of the original pharmacy staff back and head of pharmacy is keeping an eye on both customers and any staff who are out of order.

They're vaccinating too so can do without any complainers.

You can use creme fraiche wherever you would normally use cream, it's just slightly sour. It's good with really sweet puddings, where normal cream would make the whole thing sickly. You could also use it as the base of a creamy dressing fur steaks, salads, fish  or pasta dishes.

my working day atm seams to be saying   "  no we don't have lft in stock "  to everyone.  then listen to them complaining and not liking the answer of , you will have to ring around some other pharmacy's.  and no I don't know where has any in stock ...

burtha, I was on a LFT hunt yesterday and finally tracked down the last box in a tiny pharmacy in a village.  I felt as though I had won the lottery.

We are having a very hard time finding any Covid tests around here. Two members of my household have gone for tests - and tested positive. At home kits are impossible to find - everything is drive-thru only and we only have one car - that was driven by the person with Covid, so don't want to get in it for a couple of days. I have not had a test yet - since the pandemic started. I've had my shots and hope for the best. The United States is doing a terrible job of getting people tested.

weenancy, it's interesting to hear how other countries are managing.  We spend our time hissing at our rulers and how we could do a much better job, but I suppose everyone is working in the dark and doing the best they can with the information they have and the resources at their disposal.
I think that if we all look after ourselves and take sensible precautions we will keep ourselves and others that we come into contact with, as safe as possible.
I will be interested to find out what the world looks like when things have settled down a bit.
One thing I'm sure of.  The old normal is gone for ever.  Life is never going to be quite the same again.
This will go down in the history books.  In 400 years time, children will be taught about the Great Covid Pandemic, just as we were taught about the Black Death.
We've earned our place in history folks!
