  • Brilliant monna.

burtha I used to think that. It will go away when all the kids leave home. Knowing how busy you like to be I have a feeling that retirement will be SO boring for you unless you get a couple of part time charity jobs.

That's lovely monna. Time to think, breathe and just be is all we need and you have company of the pup variety. I'll swap you two children??? No?

I no longer race about being busy. It took a physical battering to get me to see that in seeking to always do something, I was trying to fill voids in my life. I was too busy being busy so that I didn't deal with things psychology. They piled up, I got busier and more stressed. I now potter and love living a calm, gentle fulfilled life while being tuned in to my emitions and thoughts. It's good for me health... mental health ;)

It's pouring here as well Mar. Crashing against the windows and hammering down on the roof. HA!

Fuddle, darling, sweet as your daughters are, please keep them. Millie might be old, ugly and smelly but she doesn't answer back.

burtha, you make me feel tired just reading what you do, but I guess it's your way of coping. Mine is to curl up in a damp, soggy ball.
    Each to his own.

nursemaggie, somewhere out there we both have a house waiting for us. I think you will probably find yours first, I pray that you do because you need it more.

I'm not joining in the discussion on shoes. Even if I find a comfortable pair, the minute I have walked half a mile in them I sprout blisters and callouses.

Monna , so glad your happy as can be for now , ( excluding house situation) .

All ways been busy , thankfully I do stop when I have to and do say no ....On occasions lol , retirement is at least 20 years away , so optimistic I can get there in one piece , but who knows ...

Joiner finished today , one step closer to house on the market ...
Boot Camp tonight ... fun fun fun ,actually feeling fit and looking ok , unfortunately headaches stay the same whatever I do , but at least it's consistent ....

Did you ever get the pup to heel , Monna ?

  • I don't think so monna you have been waiting much longer than me. All the problems with our neighbours started this year. Apart from the two (crackheads) as DS calls them, they were here before I just think they got worse. Now I think the council is just dumping all their problems here as these are hard to let. They are just making them even harder to let and upsetting the rest of the tenants.

We are not the first to leave and won't be the last by a long chalk.

Have a look at this one monna and anyone else who wants to look at a house with most of its original fittings from around 1900 to 1910 I would guess. I have owned one similar only it was twice the size and had 4 Bedrooms.

The area is very nice two. The bus is all of two meters away, just round the corner. Opposite the bus stop there is a small park. The bus goes into Bolton one way and either to the local hospital one way or just half a mile from the Christie Hospital the other.

We are going to see it on Thursday. There is even a little church that may suit me just past the park
  • butha it will come in a flash. I once read "the bigger the number of your birthday the shorter the gap between birthdays.

I am sure all the rest that are retired will agree with me.
  • NM That house is exactly like the one my sister lived in when she was in Little Lever in the mid seventies . It looks well cared for and with the transport links has your name all over it .
You'd get a good washing line or two in the garden .
Sending the vibes , it wont hang around .

Fuds and Monna It's lovely to read of your contentment . Monna there will be a buyer out there shame they wont get a move on . Maybe you should make the "DO NOT BUY THIS HOUSE" sign .

You sound much calmer burtha , take care x

I've been quiet as I started to feel a bit dizzy and queasy yesterday and don't feel any better today . i hope it's nothing more than having had a hectic few weeks .
I'm going to make some ginger tea and head to bed .

Hope you feel a bit better Karcher .

NM I love the tiny wee fireplaces in the bedrooms, and the stained glass windows. If it was on top of a hill or moor up here I'd have it! :)
